Melanie's POV

I feel my phone slip out of my hands and fall to the ground as I replay the words of the anonymous caller in my mind. 'You can run Melanie, but you can't hide. Just remember, we're always watching.' WHO THE FUCK IS DOING THIS TO ME.

"Mel, what's wrong?!" I glance up at Harry and see his face full of worry.

"They- they found me."

"Who found you? Mel, who was just on the phone with you."

"It was an unknown number, and they told me that I can run, but I can't hide. And tha-that they're always watching me.." I feel my body shaking in fear as I recount the phone call for Harry and hot tears stream down my face.

"Mel, don't cry, I promise I am going to keep you safe and I need you to believe me." Harry says to me as he bends down to pick up my discarded phone which appears to be unbroken, my phone is practically invincible but the back falls off and the battery pops out every time I drop it, which explains why my phone is in three pieces right now.

"Here I'll take those," I tell him as I reach out to get the pieces to reassemble them. Harry hands them to me and as I go to put my battery back in I realize that something is wrong.

"Harry, this isn't my battery.."

"What do you mean it's not your battery? It came out of your phone."

"I know, but my battery is grey and black. This is all black and white." I tell him as I inspect the battery which does not belong to me. As I flip it over I notice a red symbol on it. It looks like a triangle but all the sides are curved inwards making it into an interesting shape.

"Yeah, this definitely isn't mine, look at the symbol. I have never seen that before."

Harry glances down at the batter where I am pointing to the symbol and his body stiffens.

"FUCK." Harry rips the battery out of my hand and throws it onto the hallway floor, and then proceeds to smash it under his shoe.

"Harry what the hell was that for?!"

"That wasn't a battery Mel, that was a fucking bug. Someone got into your phone and replaced your battery with a bug so they can track your location, listen in on calls and read your texts. That's how they knew where you were."

"How do you know all of this? All I showed you was that symbol.." I ask cautiously. How did Harry know exactly what that was? That's not really common knowledge..

"Well um, I um, did a uh project on bugs and wireless spying in my one class last year," Harry tells me but there is no way he is telling the truth. His eyes seem to want to look everywhere but into mine.

"Oh, that makes sense I guess." I tell him, but I definitely didn't buy his lie.

"Yeah, that's how they know where you were. They've been tracking you since they put the bug in your phone. When could they have done that?"

"They only time my phone wasn't with me was last night while I was sleeping, I always charge my phone on my desk over night.. Oh my god. They were in my room when I was sleeping."

I see Harry stiffen as I verbally come to the realization that the intruder last night came into my room while I was sleeping. I feel chills creep over my body as I try to push out thoughts of everything that could have happened. I'm so lucky they didn't do anything besides bug my phone.

Harry's voice pulls me out of my thoughts, "I swear to fucking god, if they lay a single finger on you it will be the last thing they do."

"They were so close, how did I not realize it.." I whisper.
