Chapter 3

-Arden’s POV-

The sun shined through the window and hit against my cheek as I woke up. The brightness was unbearable so I shifted my body away from the light. I was half awake when I realized Tony was supposed to take me somewhere today, at the thought of that a giant smile creeped onto my face. Then the thought of last night went across my mind, I mean it was great but the fact that Eric showed up really ruined it. But I’m glad Tony didn’t just ditch me, he actually stood by my side the whole time. It was just a crazy night and what happened was in the past now.

After laying in my bed for another ten minutes I heard a really loud bang from downstairs. I got up and grabbed my phone quickly as I could and ran downstairs to see what happened. “Oh my god! Are you okay?! What happen?!” I shouted “I just dropped my mug, sorry if I woke you up,” Autumn answered from the kitchen. “It’s alright I was already awake. Here let me help you out,” I said helping her clean up the broken mug. “Thanks Arden… So how was your date with Tony last night?” she smirked. I took a deep sigh and said, “It was great.” She had this confused face questioning me. “From the sound of that sigh it doesn’t seem great, what happened?” she asked. “Okay so you know that coffee place I been dying to go to? Well Tony took me there and we decided to walk after we got our drinks. And story short, Tony had Eric on the wall by his throat,” I stated. She stood there with her jaw wide open. “Wait what?! Tell the whole story, I need to know!” she said as her eyes grew wider. I hopped onto the kitchen counter and took another deep sigh. “Well you see while we were walking I saw somebody run toward us, the person running toward us was Eric. When I saw him I literally just froze. And mind you, this guy was fucking shit drunk yelling at me, but Tony told him to back off while Tony got in front of me. Then he went ape shit trying to pull me by my wrist so somehow Tony grabbed me back and put me back to where I was and pushed Eric against the wall and grabbed him by his throat,” I explained. “Damn that was a mouthful,” I mumbled. Autumn was in shock covering her mouth with her hand. “So do you think he's gonna call you back anytime soon? I mean that was a lot to handle,” she said. “Well yeah, he’s planning to take me somewhere today. But it seems kind of crazy for him to ask when I have a crazy ex-boyfriend that caused all of that in one night,” I said. “He’s practically head over heels for you Arden! That’s why! Like, when he saw you for the first time last night his eyes lit up! You just didn’t see because you kept paying attention to other stuff,” she stated practically jumping up and down. I couldn’t stop smiling when she told me that. All of a sudden my phone started ringing, it was Tony calling me.

“Hey! You up?” he asked. “Yeah I’m up, what’s up?” I asked. “I was wondering if you didn’t have breakfast yet I’ll take you out for breakfast if you want,” he said. “Breakfast sounds perfect right about now but do you mind if I’m still getting ready when you get here?” I asked. “No not at all. But I’ll see you in 20 minutes,” he said. “Alright see you in a bit Tony,” I said as I hung up the phone. “Breakfast sounds perfect!” Autumn said mocking me. I flipped her off and went upstairs to my room.

After my shower I quickly walked back to my room to get change, I found my favorite lace crop top and maxi skirt. And as soon as I got done I heard the doorbell rang, Autumn opened the door letting Tony in. “Hey Tony! Arden is upstairs. Just take that first left when you get up there,” I heard Autumn say to him. I heard his footsteps get louder and as he got closer to my room my heart started pounding faster. He knocked on my door and peeked his head in, “Hey Arden!” I walked over to him and gave him a hug. “Hey Tony! Just give me another 10 minutes and I’ll be done,” I said as I walked over to my phone to turn my music off. Tony took a seat on my bed and said, “I’m taking you to Santa Monica Pier today.” I turned around to face him, a smile was place across his face as he looked at me. “Tony, that’s like 2 hours away though, that’s a lot of driving.” I was kind of shocked that he planned to take me to Santa Monica today because the drive from San Diego to Santa Monica was long. “I don’t mind at all and plus it’s gonna be fun,” he said as he smiled at me. I couldn’t say no to that smile… hell I wouldn’t say no at all! “Alright Tony and I’m taking your word on that,” I laughed. I turned back to the mirror to finish straightening my hair and I caught Tony looking at me. “Stop looking at me! Creep!” I teased. “Ha-ha sorry I just can’t help it… uh I mean… uh,” he said blushing.

After I got done Tony and I walked downstairs heading out the door. “Autumn we’re heading out now, I’ll see you later,” I said as we were heading out the door. “Alright have fun!” Autumn yelled toward the door. We walked to Tony’s car, he ran past me to my side of the car. He opened the door and motioned his hand for me to get in. "Ha-ha how sweet?" I smiled. After Tony closed my door he ran over to the driver seat, he got into the car and started it. "Have you heard of this breakfast restaurant named "Snooze"? It's pretty close by," Tony asked. "Yeah I've been there once, that place is amazing," I stated. "Alright lets go!" he said smiling at me.

-Tony's POV-

"I told you, I never finish my pancakes! Ha-ha I can only eat two," Arden stated. "The only reason why you can't finish them is because you just had a bowl of fruit!" I said laughing. "Look at how tiny this bowl is! I'm telling you ask anybody I know and they'll say I never finish my pancakes then I'll prove you wrong Tony," she smirked

We sat for awhile and I noticed how the sun was shinning on her tan skin. She had her head down as she took long sips of her orange juice, the sun beamed through her brown hair and it gave off this beautiful glow that she had. She picked her head up to look at me and I gave her a wink, the corners of her mouth raised and all she could do was smile.

"Come on, lets get out of here." I said getting up. I put my hand out for hers and she grabbed it. Her hand fit perfectly in mine and when I took a glance at her the smile she had never seem to fade away.

We walked back to my car and I opened her door for her again. "You don't have to keep doing this Tony, you're sweet enough," she said. I gave her a smile and ran back to the driver seat. "So you ready for a fun day?" I asked. She nodded her head and smiled at me.

The drive didn't feel as long because we had each other to pass the time. We asked each other questions about our lives but the question that had been on my mind since last night was what happened between her and that Eric guy. "So..." I said hesitantly. "Yeah?" she asked. "I know I shouldn't ask this and I don't know if you're fine with me asking, but why did you break up with Eric?" I asked cautiously. "I don't mind you asking but I caught him cheating on me with these girls at a party I attended awhile back and I was tired of him verbally abusing me... He would call me every name in the book and I was fed up. It was like getting picked on everyday for no reason whatsoever," she explained. "What a fucking asshole!" I said as my jaw clenched up. She put her hand on my arm calming me down. "But having new beginnings like this just gives me reassurance that I can be happy again," she said. A smile creeped onto my face, she shyly smiled and look away with her hand still holding my arm.

"We're here!" I said excitedly. I parked the car, Arden grabbed her purse and I grabbed my book bag and we headed out the car. I took a grip of her hand and ran toward the beach, but with Arden trying to catch up with me I didn’t want to leave her behind so I just picked her up over my shoulders. "Oh my god Tony! Put me down!" Arden shouted hitting my back and giggling over my shoulders. "I'm throwing you in the water!" I joked. "You better put me down now, I don’t have extra clothes!" she laughed. And with that said I placed her back down onto the ground. She slapped my arm so I made it seem like it hurt me.

...

"Can we go on the Ferris wheel now? I been waiting all day to go on it," Arden begged. "Ha-ha yeah, I just think its nice to ride it at this time while the sun sets," I explained. We head onto the Ferris wheel and took our seat. "Can I see your polaroid?" I asked. She handed me it and I took a selfie of the both us. I took two pictures so we both could have one to keep. "Eww I look weird in this one," she laughed. I smiled at her, "No you don't you look adorable!" I put my arm around her and she rested her head against my shoulder and we just watched the sun go down.

"Ready to go?" I asked getting off the Ferris wheel. Arden nodded her head and we head toward my car. She grabbed my hand, "Thanks for taking me out today... thanks for everything." I was confused, what did she mean by "everything"?

"Everything?" I asked. "For being be here for me. For doing all these great things with me... For making me smile. Thanks Tony," she explained. I paused for a moment and a great big smile went across my face. "No problem at all, its nice to see you happy," I smirked.

This day spent with her made me realize that she was actually my missing piece. From the smile she had when we road the rides and the level of understanding she had when we had our serious conversations it all made me happy. And yes even though I've only known her for two days these two days felt like two years and she was hell of a great person.
