Chapter 8
-Arden's POV-
I check my watch. 8:14 pm. "Where is he, I thought he was supposed to be here 10 minutes ago," I said to myself. Sitting on the bench outside the airport I was growing impatient so I called him.
Me: Babe where are you?
Tony: I'm on my way don’t worry Arden I'll be there in 5 minutes.
Me: Alright.
With that said I hung up the phone and sat there waiting for him. Strolling through my Twitter and checking my Instagram again I grew impatient once more. When I was getting ready to call Tony somebody came over and sat next to me on the bench but I didn’t give them any mind. I stand up to look around trying to find his car but it was nowhere in sight. "Tony, where are you?" I said worried. "Right next to you silly, look down" he laughed. I turn over to my right and I see him smiling at me. "Oh my God! Tony! I've miss you!" I said hugging him tightly and kissed his lips. "I thought you were some random guy with your hood over your head! Where have you been??" I asked. "I went to get you some coffee," he smiled hanging me the coffee.
I walked beside him as we both pushed my tug and walk through the traffic to the parking garage. "What's in this thing? It's huge!" he asked about the guitar case. "It's a present from Autumn's parents, I promised them I wouldn’t open it up until I got home," I explained. Luckily the case was in a big rectangular box and not just the guitar case by itself. "Oh alright, but how was it back in Georgia babe?" he asked. "It was great! Wonderful actually, Naomi and I got some great quality time together. And guess what?!" I smiled. He looked down at me and had a questioning expression. "Naomi is moving to San Diego mid-January with her boyfriend!" I said. "Awesome! I can’t wait to meet her and Sebastian," he smiled. With one hand on the tug and the other hand on my side he pulled me in closer. "Arden, I been missing your brown eyes so much. It's been a week and I been going crazy without you," he said into my ear. Chills went down my neck and for a moment my knees went weak. "I missed you too Tony," I said as I kissed him on his cheek.
We sat in silence throughout the ride home, he had a Christmas CD playing and I would hum to the melody of the songs. "I've missed your little hums when we drive together," he smiled. I smile back at him and he puts his free hand on my lap. He squeezed it and gave me the hottest look known to mankind and I melted a little. I look away biting down on my lower lip and tried to control myself.
"Oh I told Autumn that I was gonna be staying over your house for the night if that’s cool with you," I said. "That'll be great," he said.
"Home sweet home!" he cheered. I get out the car and got my suitcases out of the trunk and Tony got the box. We walked into the house and a warm air hits me and the smell of Tony washes over me. In the corner I see a naked pine tree and I giggled. "Did you wait for me to get home to decorate the tree?" I asked. "Yeah, it wouldn’t be the same without you," he said rubbing the back of his neck. "Well let's get started because Christmas is in 2 days!" I cheered. I grabbed the tinsel and we both wrapped it around the tree. Next was the white lights and then the ornaments. We took a step back and looked at the tree in awe. Tony was behind me holding me tightly, I turn around to him and our eyes meet each other. He leaned in for a kiss and grabbed me closer into his body. "I love you Arden," Tony said rubbing my back. "I love you too," I said. "Oh I almost forgot my gift," I said getting up. I head toward the front door and dragged it into the living room.
-Tony's POV-
Arden open's the box up to a case, I wasn’t sure what the case held but I watched her open it. She held up an ESP EC-1000 Black Cherry electric guitar and my jaw dropped. She handed me the guitar, "This guitar is actually for you Tony. Merry Christmas." She sat there on the ground smiling from ear to ear. It was kind of unbelievable and I was shocked. "Oh my god. Thank you so much baby!" I said hugging her tightly. "How did you get it???" I asked. "So I was at the guitar center where Autumn's parents own, I knew that you wanted it and I was willing to buy it but I was shocked about the price and when I was about to give up on finding you something in there her parents were willing to give it to me for free," she explained. I gave her a kiss and hugged her tightly once more. "Tell them I said thank you," I said. "I'm just glad I have you Arden that’s all that matters," I said. "You still like the gift though right?" she asked. "Of course I do!" I laughed.
"Okay wait here, I have your gift in the room," I said running upstairs. I grabbed her gift and ran back down stairs. "Here Arden this is for you. Merry Christmas baby," I smiled. She tore the gift wrapped up into shreds and her eyes lit up. "Oh my god Tony! This is so adorable!" she beamed. While she was gone for the week I had some time on my hands so I made her a scrapbook. It definitely wasn’t the best scrapbook I've ever made but she appreciated it. She would flip through the pages of the scrapbook and just sit there and smile. When she was getting close to the end I was getting more and more excited because the last page gave her a hint to where her last gift was located. "I can play a song while everyone sings along," she read out loud. "Your guitars?" she asked. "I don’t know go check," I smirked. She grab my hand and pulls me upstairs with her.
Excitement filled her eyes and words didn’t seem to explain how happy she was. "Tony... it's beautiful. I love it so much! Thank you," she said looking at the sterling silver pendent I got for her from Tiffany and Co. She lifts her hair up and I place the necklace around her neck and she turns around quickly and jumps into my arms. "Oh my god Tony! It's perfect! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she hugged me tightly. "You're welcome baby," I smiled.
"Don’t you find it funny that we gave our Christmas gifts to each other 2 days before Christmas?" I asked. "No, I do that every Christmas," she laughed. I pull her closer into me and kissed her on the forehead. "Aye get off your phone!" I said grabbing her phone and putting it behind me. “Hey!” she shouted. “Let’s take a walk,” I said grabbing her hand. “Right now? It’s almost 12 though Tony,” she said. I nodded my head and smiled at her. I gave her a hoodie that I had laying around and we walked outside. I locked the door and we head toward the park a block away from my house.
“So the other day I saw your tweet about you no longer associating with Key Street. What happened Tony?” she asked. “Don’t worry about it Arden, I just had a few differences that’s all. Things happen for a reason right?” I asked. “I guess,” she said quietly. “As long as you’re happy with your decision then I here for you,” she reassured me. I hugged her as we walk down the street. Houses sparkle from the sight of Christmas lights and Arden hummed to a Christmas song. Soon the quiet hums turned into a beautiful voice. “I didn’t know you could sing. Your voice is amazing Arden!” I said shocked. She giggled and turned to me and with a big grin, “Well you know now.” I playfully pushed her to the side and then put my hands into my pockets. “Sing something for me,” I insisted. “What song?” she asked. “Umm what about a part from Hold on Till May?” I suggested. When she started off her soothing tone filled the space around us and as time progressed you could hear the emotion and you could feel her emotion. She opened her eyes to look up at me and I was in awe because I couldn’t believe what I just heard come out from her. “Wow… Arden that was amazing,” I said. “Thanks babe, that means a lot coming from you,” she smiled.
