As i opened the door to my room i jumped on my bed.... My sweet bed my second best friend

Let me go and inform your father you are back my mum said and she went out, i decided to take my bath before she comes back.

After dressing up in my simple grown and head tie i went downstairs to the kitchen before my dad finish talking to his people outside.

When i went down i saw Aunty layla, she's our cook who i grow up with, she is the best best cook in the world trust me.

Aunty aunty i said as i worked into the kitchen

Ga kamshinan na ta tashi..... Ina Hadiza ( i can smell the decent .... Were is hadiza?) i asked hadiza is her sister my very good friend

Tana gida aiko tana ta naiman ki (she's at home she has been looking for you) she said arranging the dinning table

Kar ki dumu yarinya ta (don't worry my dauta) she said and then she went back to the kitchen while i entered the small parlour

Assalamu alykum i heared my daddy's voice coming into the parlour

I missed you more daddy na i said

Toh sannun ku umran baban ta ( well done you guys umra for her dad) she said folding her hands on her chest looking at us

Aah mummy umra na mummy da daddy ( no mummy umra for mummy and daddy) i said hugging them both and they all laughed

Toh abinci yayi aje aci abinci ( Its time to eat lets go and eat) said mummy and we all went to the table to eat.

Humaira.

Humaira humaira kin dawo daga islamic (Humaira Humaira are you back from your islamic school) said kaka my grandmother who i live with.

Yes i live with my grandmother which i don't why, i don't know anything about my family and my kaka is very not so friendly so i didn't bother asking about my origin

Eh kaka na dawo ( yes kaka i am back) i said dropping my bag on the floor

Toh kije ki dibo ruwa ( go and fetch water) she said, as i said my grandmother is not the friendly type unfortunately.

I went to the small place we cook and took a pot and went to the river to fetch water before she starts yelling and beating.

On my way to the river, i saw my 2 good friend ladidi and zara'u walking to the stream too so i decided to join them.

Humaira da zara'u nikam na kusan aure na barku fa ( Humaira and zara'u about about get get married and leave you guys) said ladidi in a very sad voice

Yes that was the life we live in, you get married at a very young age here in the village, poor ladidi ...

Toh... Waye mijin ki ladidi( who is your husband ladidi) asked zara'u after fetching her water she sat beside us

Dan tale she said with a blushing, yes Dan tale is ladidi's lover since when we were small atleast am happy for her, he is not a stranger and i know that he will take care of her because he is a good man.

Niko naji dadi miki walahi (i am very happy for you) said zara'u while ladidi was busy blushing trying to close her face from us

Allah yasa shi yafi maki zaman lafiya ( May go make this your happily ever after) i said and they both said Amin

Ku kam yaushe zaku samo miji kuyi aure ( when will you guys get a husband and get married) said ladidi

Niii aure gaskiya ba yanzu ( me marriage honestly not now) i said to them and the all looked at me with shocked eyes.

Aiko kima na aiki dan mutanan garinan ba barinki zasu yi ( you have a great task ahead of you cause the people of this town won't let you) said ladidi

Kunga mu tashi mu tafi kafin mamana tace nayi dadare( let go before my mother will say i am late) and then we all got up and left the river to our various houses.

Kaka ..... Kaka..... Kaka na dawo i said as i dropped my pot near our small kitchen

Kinje kina ta wasa a wurin ko shiyasa kika dade, baki san kina da aikin yi ba a gida ( you went to play by the riverside right that's why you are late, don't you know you have work to do) she said

Kiyi hakuri kaka.... (am sorry grandma) i said not looking at her eyes, yes its a big disrespect to look at an elderly person in his eyes while he's shouting at you.

Baki san mata kamar ki aure ya kamata suyi ma (don't you know that girls like you are suppose to get married) she said with both hands on her waist.

Gaskiya kaka ban shirya ba ( truthly am not ready grandma) i said moving backwards in case am about to receive and physical hit from her.

Toh baa gida naba, baza ki kawo mun abun kunya ba a gida na ( no in my house, you will not disgrace me in my house) she said clapping her hands looking at me.

I have always wandered why my grandmother as in such a manner to me nut then i failed to understand why, i have heared stories about how grandmothers are to their grandchildren but not mine.

I don't even think she is my grandma because i don't know how and why do i stay with her, where is my parents a question that i don't think i will ever have an answer to...

Education is a very important aspect in my life which i can't afford to loss it, i will try my very best and make sure i get all all the scholarship education i can get to pursue my dream of becoming a medical doctor but then i seem to never come true .......

Ine de karatu neh toh kin kusan barin shi ( if it education you will soon leave it) she said walking back to her room, and then i went to the kitchen to make dinner for us
And while making dinner i decided to start looking for a job because my scholarship won't last forever i thought.

After serving my grandmother, i eat my food and went to bed, with the hope that tomorrow will be a better day for all of us InshaAllah.
