Sadiya mai kike yi a waye haka cikon wannan daran ( sadiya what you doing in this night outside)  i said to the little girl sitting on the road.

Sadiya is actually my neighbors daughter, i don't know why this girl likes running away from home sometimes i see her outside sitting alone

Babu komai aunty Humra( nothing aunty humra) she said looking down. Sadiya is just 6 years old.

Shigo mota na sauke ki gida ( come inside the car let me take you home) i said to her but she didn't move instead she kept her head down.

I opened the door for her to enter and she did

Ki gaya mun abun da ke faruwa da ke, maiyasa zaki fito da dadare haka ( tell me whats happening why did you come out latr in the night) i said and she started crying so i hugged her. After a while she began to sleep and then i decide to take her to my home.

When i got home i saw my mother and father in the sitting room watching tv but when they heard the sound of the door they all looked up.

Humra what is this said my dad pointing at sadiya that i was holding

Daddy DanAllah (please) let me take her up i will come down and explain all to you o said to him and the the nodded, i took her upstairs kept her in bed and then i went down to talk to mum and dad.

Mum and dad am very sorry for bringing a stranger into the house but i think i did a very goo thing for doing that i said looking down

I fail to understand said my mother folding her hands

If her parents start looking for her what will you say to them ehhh.....  Tell me humra what will you tell them she added

Mama i know this girl, she lives next to us actually she is the Late Alh musa's daughter, her mother if you haven't heared is a drunker, she is his only daughter mama and i have a feeling she has the worst life mama please lets help this young girl i said looking at her

So what are you thinking of doing, how can you help her said my father

What will you tell her mother even through she's  a drunker because you have no right to take away her daughter from her he added

Baba am not thinking of separating a child and her mother, but then a young little girl that is just 6 years old is not worth living this kind of life i said looking at him

Baba please as the king of this place please don't ignore the cry's of this young girl, i know you can help her out no one deserves a life like this i added moving closer to him but he kept quite thinking

There is only 1 way and that way may not work but i would see what i can do about it he said and then he stood up and left the sitting room followed by my mum.

Humaira..

I have been living with this wonderful man called Alh. Abdullahi and his wife who i well hates my guts.

Humaira!!! Humaira!! Ina kika shiga ( were did you enter) said Aunty Rashida

Yes am here i said coming out of my room to the parlor were she was.

Are you stupid she said pointing at me

Are you mad didn't i tell you to wash all my clothes today she said to me which i totally forgot, I've been working since morning washing, cleaning, cooking and guess what she wants me to wash her clothes.

Kiyi hakuri i forgot (sorry)  i said while was a wrong thing because i earned a slap on my face

Ni kike gaya wa kin manta wawiya karuwa, ai dama nasan ke karuwa ce mai yawo kan titi a chan ya samo ki har ya tsinto shi ( is it me that you are telling that you've forgotten foolish prostitute, i know ur a prostitute that walks on the street at night that's were he saw you and picked you) she said to me but then i just kept quite for the sake of Alh Abdullahi

Bada ke nike maganaba (am i not talking to you) she said shifting my head with her finger

Ke Rashida mai kike yi haka( Rashida what are you doing) said  her husband coming into the house

Meya faru ( what happened)  he asked me but then i kept quite not wanting to cause the two to fight because of me.

Wato ita kake tambaya meya faru bani ba ( so its her your asking what happened no me)  said his wife with both hands on her waist what are drama queen if i could give her an advice right now i would advice her to join Hausa film cause she fits like those woman that go to native doctors for help.

Wato ni baza a tamabaye ni ba dan nike da lefi ko,  toh wlh gara ta tatara kayan ta, she should go back to were ever you saw her on the street (so you won't ask me because am the one that has fault here right) she said and then she walked into her room and he followed her shouting her name while i enter inside my room.

Humaira fito (come out)  said Alh Abdullahi and then i quickly came out to his sitting room were ave never entered, when i came in i saw a picture of him and another woman that i may or may not have seen my resemblance with her but then i kept staring at the picture forgetting what i came to do.

Nima de ina ganini kamani ku sosai ( me too i can see your resemblance very well) he said too looking at the picture then back at me then at the picture and then i noticed beside the picture were 2 babies.

Wacece (who is she)  i asked him mistakenly

Ya hakuri bada sanina ya fito ba ( sorry it was a slip of tongue ) i said standing beside his chair.

Bakomai,  ita matata ce ta farko, sukuma yaranane Humra da Humaira ( she is my first wife and they are my children Humra and Humaira)  he said pointing at the pictures.

Ina suke (were are they) i asked him

Sun rasu (they are all dead)  he said looking down and a tear escaped his eye which made me regret what i asked.

Allah ya jikan su( May there souls reast in peace)  i said and we both said amin.

You called me here i said to him and then he looked back at me

Yes i called you to tell you that i am very sorry for what she did to you and the words she told you you didn't deserve it he said but i shake my head

Bakomai ( No problem)  i said to him shaking my head.

Toh sannun ku (ok well-done you guys) said his wife coming out of her room clapping her hands

Toh walahi sai ta barmun gida ( i swear to God she must leave my house) she said coming toward me but was stopped by Alh Abdullahi entered my front to stop her from coming closer to me.

Ka shiga gaba na kaii kaii toh walahi ine bata kar gidan nan ba saide ayi daya cikin biyu ko na tafi ko ta tafi( you entered my front, you you i swear to god if she doesn't leave this house it either i leave or she leaves) she said and then she walked back into her room.
