8) I told you I got this

Ellie PoV:
I sneaked over the farmyard to the other side of the house. The house had a big garden with lots of things like a swing, a treehouse and a sandpit. Maybe kids are living there. I sneaked to the back door and tried to open it. Locked. Figured. I slinked around the house and found an open window. I slowly climbed through it and hid behind a big chair. Obviously this was the living room. I looked into all the drawers but I couldn't find a key. Shit. I opened the door to the next room quietly and entered. The kitchen. Same thing again, looking inside all the drawers. Suddenly I heard someone talking. Fuck. I stopped and listened. The voices luckily didn't come closer so I got into the next room. Bathroom. No key in there. But some fresh bandages for my wounds. I took them and left the room. I entered the next room and stopped immediately. There.was.a.fucking.man.sleeping.in.there. The man looked like one of the guys bringing us here. And there: He held a key in his hand. How should I get this key without getting caught?! I sneaked to him and reached out my hand to grab the key when he suddenly moved his head. Luckily he was still sleeping. I grabbed the key and hid behind the chair he was sleeping on. Puh.He didn't notice it. I went back outside but took some ammo and food with me. When I jumped out of the window, I heard someone talking."Where is this little brat?" There were two men walking around with guns, seeking after me. Shit. Suddenly I noticed a knife at my throat. The man held me tight so I almost passed out. I quickly took out my knife and rammed the knife inside his arm. I turned around and rammed it into his chest. Then I took his loaded gun and sneaked to the other man. I jumped onto his back and cut his throat with my knife. His body fell onto me but I pushed him off me. I went to the barn and unlocked the door. I opened it and everyone looked at me like I was going to kill them. I smiled and Joel said relieved,"Oh,you are alright." "I told you I got this." Suddenly Nathan hugged me. I laughed. "How can a girl like you be so brave?",he said. Then he got off me again. We left the barn quietly. Joel noticed the corpses."You are tougher than I thought.",he whispered smiling. I laught,"Yeah,yeah,Whatever." We reached a bigger town before sunrise. There was a high wall. "How do we get in there.",Nathan said. "Ellie,this time you pull them up.",Joel said and boosted me up the wall. He boosted them up and I pulled them up. "Now jump down there.",I said. "Jump down there?!",Nathan repeted shocked. I laughed,"Sure,dummy. How else do we get down there? Come on it's not that bad." We jumped down and crossed the city. "Why are we here,anyway?",I asked confused. "We are going to stay here till midday and rest and in the afternoon I am going to meet Marlene. I have to talk to her about something.",Joel said.  I slowed down and went next to Nathan. "So, did you have anyone to hang out with?", I asked. "Nah, not really. What about you?" "Well, I used to have a best friend but she was the only one who has ever cared about me.",I said thoughtful. "Where is she now?",he asked curious. "She's probably in heaven.", I sighed. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." "It's alright, really." We reached a house and went onto the fourth floor. This house was higher than the others and it's windows were at the height of the other houses' roofs. We entered one of the flats and Nathan and I went into a room, seperated from the adults. I looked out of the window and heard Joel talking,"Look, I'm thinking about leaving Ellie here. I saw so many things bothering her. I guess it's saver for her here. Marlene has a kid in her age. She knows how to treat kids. Than we and Nathan are going to my ex wife Ann. We'll stay there then." What?! This couldn't be real. He really wanted to leave me here with a strange woman?!
