"Take this around 8:50. I want to make sure you get a good night sleep." I tell Rory as I put a pill next to a glass of water on her desk. She nods but continues to edit her video. She's so excited to start making videos I can't help but feel proud. I just hope that she won't take it too hard if people, for whatever reason, say rude things about her. I know she'll be fine. She's a strong kid. I smile as I walk out of her room and go to mine and Devyn's.

"Hey babe." I smile as I see her on our bed. I jump on it and lay down next to her.

"Hey." She smiles. She continues going through her phone. We chill like that for a moment until I feel my phone go off. I take it out of my pocket to see Colby is trying to FaceTime me.

"Yo wassup dude?" I ask him once I answer it.

"I was just wondering if I can talk to you real quick. Are you busy?" He asks with a serious face. I feel a little worried if I'm being honest.

"Yea sure, come on up." I answer him. He then hangs up.

"What was that about?" Devyn asks me curiously. I just shrug in response. A second later, Colby comes into our room. "What do you need bro?"

"It's about Rory." He says while looking out the door, I guess to make sure she can't hear if it's this important.

"What about her?" Devyn asks worriedly.

"She's had a tough life, now I only know this because I forced her to tell me, but she told me to keep it a secret. I'd just hate to think that we would abandon her like a lot of other people have. Just please, under no circumstance, give up on her in any way." He tells us seriously. Devyn nods as I just stare at him.

"What happened to her? What do you mean you can't tell us?" I ask him.

"I just promised I wouldn't." He sighs. That doesn't help me at all. I am her dad anyways!

"Okay." I rolled my eyes.   

"It's just-" He starts, "it's just she's had a lot of people leave her behind. I just don't want to see that happen to her because of us."

"Okay. It's cool." I mumble. He then leaves and Devyn and I get ready for bed.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Shit... I look up to see Elton rushing into the big hall from the kitchen. I sighed a bit out of relief when I saw it was just him.

"I was just out." I replied as I started to walk to the stairs. He stopped me though,

"No, what were you doing?" He asks sternly. I sigh and turn on my heels to face him.

"I went to the orphanage." I act.

"This late?"

"I like to make sure the girls are okay every once in a while. It's easy since I can't sleep." That's the truth. But now that I think about it, I'm feeling guilty for not actually checking up on the girls. I do miss them. I wonder if anything happened today.

"Okay. Just let me know next time if you want to see them. It's going to start getting cold out soon, I don't want you to get sick." He sighs. He's being really chill about this...

"Thank you Elton." I smile. He nods and goes out to the garage. I head up to my room and take out my phone. Holy shit! I have so many notifications! "What the?" I look on my Instagram to see I have so many more followers, same thing with Twitter, and my YouTube is freaking out! I check Cory's channel to see he made a short video,

"What's up you guys, it's Corey Scherer here, and I have an important message for all of you! As you know Devyn and I adopted a kid named Rory, and she starting a YouTube channel of here own! So go follow here on all of her social media,"

Then all of my usernames popped up,

"And just show her love because she's my baby now. Go on a do it guys!"

I checked everyone else's channels to see that they have similar videos up. Awe! What adorable people I live with! I can't express how happy I am to see this right now I'm close to crying! I switched over to my Twitter and tried to follow everyone who followed me back-same goes for Instagram-and shut my phone off. I lay down and stare at my empty ceiling. There's something I can do. I go to my closet and get out the paint Cory and I bought a few days ago, and went to work.
