The elevator doors opened wide. A swish of the cold air hit me in the face. The crimes being solved beside my sisters just frustrated me. My sister's case is easily and simpler then trying to find a serial killer. But I wasn't here to talk to a detective. I was here to talk to a lab geek or someone that knows the good stuff and not the stupid stuff like what the press needs to know and what they don't. I looked around. I felt my heart in my throat and my palms were sweating and shaking. Was I nervous? Was it because I have to try to find the pieces of this puzzle that I think I can put together? I took a long look around the station. I was still standing in the middle of the hall. A man that towered me came from behind and asked, " are you lost?" I jumped a Little and turned slowly. I dry swallowed a mouth full of spit and looked at the guy. " well kinda of, I need to find the lab."
He looked at me with her brows raised like he was surprised to hear me say that or something. He turned to his right and pointed, " that way all the way down." I nodded and he when on his way.

I walked to the of the hallway and knocked on the door. A dude looked up from his laptop and made eye contact with me. I made a quick smile and he opened the door. I stood in the doorway. I didn't want to stay long. He sat back down on his stool and looked up at me. I got straight to the point. " the Mia Brenner case? Do you know anything about it?" He looked at my confused, " you look a little to young to work in a police department." He tilted his hand to the right. I tilted my head the same way so we were looking at each other the same way. We turned our heads the same way still looking to each other. I broke the silence like I usually do. " so the case?" He made a face like a light bulbs when off in his head. " oh yea" he reached out to the side of his computer and grab a case file. I've never held a file in my hands before. Mom and Dad would have them all around the house though. But they were off limits for us girls. I opened the file and my eyes went straight to the picture of my sister. Paper clipped to the right side. I scanned the file and closed it. I handed it back to him and asked with a serious face, " anything that you know of that not in the file?" He had a face like he was thinking whether or not to tell me. He closed the door behind me and leaded in close and said in a low voice, " well i know you are not part of the police and I know that's your sister you know how I know?" I rolled my eyes like it was obvious. I was shorter then most and on there board they have a picture of my sister under unsolved and she is my twin so It was honestly pretty obvious but I played along and nodded. He continues " she had a twin and you ran into the crime scene and I was there. Sorry to burst your bubble." I blush a little, embarrassed. I shook my head and got on track. " so are you going to help me find the sick fucker that killed my sister or not mr?" I looked down at his name tags and continue, " Cade, Morgen" He leaded back in his stool and sighed "you sound like my sister. Well I can help you in with all the police stuff because like yourself I believe innocent people don't deserve to die but if we find him before they do then ..." he trailed off into a mumble that I couldn't understand. I nodded my head as if I understood. "So when do we start?" I said trying my best to sound like a independent person. He looked at his watch and then at the ceiling. He started naming his schedule out loud, " Harrison preschool noon, work 5." He looked at me again with his "got it" face. " can we do it sunset tomorrow?" I replied "yea" and turned facing the door. I opened  the door and I looked at Cade and asked in a serious voice trying to sound as if I was here for the same reason all of the people were here , " are we all done here? he nodded. I asked him if he want the door open or closed. He shrugged his shoulders. so I closed the door behind me. I started my way to the elevator and I walked pasted a lady walking to the lab. She had an concerning face. I wonder if that was Cade's sister. They had the same face structure and the both got lucky in the height department. I found my way to the elevator no help needed. I pushed the down button. I stood there for a good five seconds before the one right in front of me opened unexpectedly. I stepped in all lone this time. No cops secretly judging me from behind. I walked back to the front desk and handed the lady my visitors pass and walked outside. The heat immediately hit me. I didn't realize how high their A.C was in there. I walked to the car and swung open the drivers door and hopped inside. I slammed the door as fast as I possibly could have and turned on the air conditioner.

I felt like a new person honestly.
Like I can take on the world or something like that.
Like life is now worth living.
The world was finally black and white and not all those colors.

I pulled out of the driveway and headed back to the hotel before my mom notices her keys missing.
