After my pancake and bacon breakfast, I hopped upstairs and made my way into my dark bedroom. I switched on the light switch and walked hesitatingly to the left side of my bed where my phone was charging. I turned on my Spotify playlist and walk one foot in front of the other like I was on a tightrope into my closet that was four time bigger than my other one. I mean my last one I wasn't able to walk into and this one I can.

Today I woke up in a good mood. I have no idea what it could be but I have a feeling it's because I woke up to a text from jack or something because I also had a text from Cade but Cade's didn't make me smile.

I don't like jack that way but I never wake up to text from guys. Plus texting someone first I feel your annoying them but getting one first kind of makes my day like today apparently.

I shuffled though the shirts hanging from the ride above my a couple of times back and forth until I found a off the shoulder, black shirt. I changed from the one I had on to the on I just found. I throw the old one like a football, like my dad would probably do because of high school and his football years, into the laundry basket across the room next to my desk. Then I walked over to the dresser  drawer and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans.

Making my way around a corner leading into the hallway that ended to a long steep stairwell, my phone in my back right pocket began to shake around. As I stood flat footed at the end of the staircase I reached into my pocket and grab the pop socket therefore pulling my phone out of my pocket. I glanced down on to the screen as it rang.

Cade

I pressed down on the green phone and swiped my finger across answering.

Hey Cade how's it going

I answered pulling the phone up to my left ear.
I could hear his breathing through the phone.

Heavy in and out.

In and out.

Louder and louder.

Quicker and quicker

My slight grin slowly dropped as my face grow concerned. My eyes traveled to the ground.

What wrong ur freaking me out

I slowly walked backwards from the end of the staircase to a nearby couch. I could feel my heartbeat in my throat. Why if he was kidnapped was at gun point? Why if the police found out what he does for a hobby? What if his mom called and was coming to town?

I pulled my phone away from my ear and place my hand on my knee with he phone facing upwards. I rolled my eyes at the last thought and the right side of my mouth went up leaving the left side still in the concerned position.

Dropping my head I lifted the phone back up to my ear and with a little giggle I said.

Ok dude what do you want now?

He reply cockily

Like how badly did I freak you out?

Still grinning

Really bad ok like me almost passing out bad. so what do you find?

Well last night I found out who my sister and is dating. Someone taller then me and he definitely needs to learn how to use a brash. I mean man he could be a lion if he wanted to.

Since again I rolled my eyes and disappointedly reply to his joke.

That's sad because what if they get married and your brothers in law with a lion.

We both explode into laughter. Laughing for a good 5 minutes, until we finally relaxed.

Ok dude what the reason for calling me and freaking me out?

He sighed and I could hear his chair make the squeaky sounds it makes when u lean back to far.

So I can't call a friend randomly?

I rolled my eyes

Umm I don't recall us being friends

Well we are now that I say so

Aren't you like 25 dude or...

I pause for emphasis and continue

...man

I hear I little giggle though the phone. I have never heard him laugh before and especially thought the phone. He's always so serious all the time, but now seriousness had starting to build up in his voice before he spoke again.

"ok the reason I called was..."

In a snap of my fingers, he's mood dropped from a seven grade girl gigging about boys in the girls bathroom to an emotionless piece of board.

"...remember that your mom said that she went taco bell while all this was happening with your sister?"

I nodded my head slowly, trying to find the path Cade had started down. Then the word yeah escape from my lips into the mic traveling though the phone. I did remember that. In the car on the way home for school a couple of weeks ago. That's what my mom told me it happened when she got food at Taco Bell. Cade told me more about his findings and it was all a blur until I heard,

"...out of curiosity, I called that Taco Bell that your mother said she went to and asked for security tapes and last night I was watching them on my laptop and the time that the crime was committed and when supposedly your mom was at Taco Bell, no ones there. No one purchased any food. Then I also remembered your mom never have Taco Bell bags with her or in the house at all."

I was sitting there, looking like a deer in head lights. Frozen.
