The Last Ones

Chapter 9

I sigh when i see Kameko and Kado running towards us. "Whats going on?" Kameko shouts.

"Yeah, we saw police cars and then we heard some fighting." Kado explains.

"We are just fine." I tell them when they finally reach us.

"Kados arm is fully healed and Thanos is still missing. Thats like sorta fine." Mannix debates. I shush him and hand Kameko the letter. As Kado reads other her should i grab Mannixs arm and pull him off towards the house, back towards Alon. "I didnt like Thanos anyway, he always looked at you...oddly." Mannix defends himself. "Mannix! Hes my brother." I yell whisper at him. I start to march towards the gate back to the backyard but Mannix grabs my hand but after a slight squeeze, he drops it. Tingles shoot up my arm and im happy im in front of him so he cant see me blushing. I take a deep breath before i tap Alon on the shoulder. She whips around, her beautiful red hair flying around her face before it lands perfectly on her shoulders. I roll my eyes. Why is it every girl but  me has flawless hair? I shrug mentally and brace myself to ask the question thats been rolling in my head. "Alon, will you come with us? Its dangerous but we want you." I hear Mannix take a deep breath behind me but i hold up my hand. I need to finish this and hear her answer. She looks back at the dragon behind her. Its staring at her with its reddish purple eyes and a small puff of steam jets from its nose. Alon just laughs. What is wrong with this girl? If i were her, i would freak out, but hey, maybe its because she is a ginger. Her serious face returns and i turn to stone, terrified she is just going to laugh at us or maybe call the actual cops. Then her face softens and she grins as she says," Of course, i love danger." She glanes over at her friends and shrugs," Those guys are whimps anyways, when are we leaving?" 

"Asap." Kado yells from behind. Him and Kameko are walking hand in hand over to us. Kameko is hardcore staring at his face like a stalker peering in through a window. I breifly wonder what she is thinking about but then throw that thought in the mental trash can. Knowing her, its probably dirty.

"How do we get to this island?"Mannix asked out of nowhere, snapping me out of my daze. I sneak a glance to his face and blush when he locks eyes with me. I hear the others talking in the background but all i can think about is Mannix and how we almost kissed. Oh yeah, he turned me down. Why cant i break eye contact with him? Then he throws out his sexy smirk and i melt. If it werent for the others being here, i wouldve ripped off his clothes right here and then. But i pushed my self control up a notch and finally looked away. I hear him snicker to himself. I jump when i feel something wrapping around my waist and gasp silently when i relize its mannix putting his arm around me. My face blushes to an all time red, and i cant help but to lean slightly onto him. His clothes smell dirty and sweaty but hidden under that, there is the slight scent of Dove soap and i feel my eyes close. 

"Mannix?" I mutter to him, tiredness suddenly washing over me like a wave, the current pulling me deeper by the second. 

"Yeah babe?" Did he just call me babe? But im too tired to be sure.

"I think i love you..." I accidently say outloud. Drunk off sleep, i could say anything. But i grin when i hear him say," I love you more, Aleris." I know i heard him say that. And i finally pass out.

I wake up next to Mannix after a dreamless sleep. I mustve been tired. I yawn to myself. I notice me and mannix are really close together, my head laying on his chest and his arm around my shoulders. I take a chance and reach my hand over to his stomach. After only a moment of laying my hand down, i know he has abbs. I love this guy. I smile to myself. I accidently chuckle outloud and i snap my hand over my mouth. I look around but its too dark to see anything, its pitch black. Even my cat vision wouldnt help. "Are you having fun snooping around?" I hear Mannix interrogate. I jump as i relize he wasnt asleep and then my face blushes red. Good thing its so dark. 

"I didnt relize you were awake." I explain myself. I dont want him to think im some weird creep that touches people when they sleep. I facepalmed. "I mean, like i dont normally touch people uh its uh because um, where are we?" I ask, hoping to change the subject. I swear i can see him grin though the dark. 

"We are on a plane, heading to the island that was on the map." He moves his arm from my shoulders to around my waist and he pulls me closer. My heart beats faster, my skin heats up, and i swear he can feel both. Suddenly one thought pops into my mind. 

"Where are Kameko and Kado?" Hopefully not having sex. I finish in my mind. 

"They are hiding in a different storage container." Did he say hiding? "What do you mean hiding?" I question him. "The flight wasnt exactly free." I can feel his smirk glaring at me through the darkness. Now that i thought about it, i could hear the rumble of the engine and suddenly i felt sick. I move to cover up my mouth with my hand, but Mannix somehow finds it in the dark and rubs circles on my palm. Instantly my head ache vanishes and i breathe a sigh of relief. If i were to be stuck on a -however long this flight is- flight with anyone else, i would definelty be puking up my guts. But atleast we are heading home, nothing can stop us now.
