Tiffy's POV
Night was supposed to be nice.
Peaceful. Serene. A time for rest, a time when mothers and fathers told their children legends about the Burning World, about the heroes that reigned on, the legends of Will Shane, of the Unbeatable Master, until their eyes drooped shut in a tranquil slumber. It was supposed to be a time of peace and serenity, where the night breeze swept through the individual blades of grass, ruffling them with the wind. As slugs lay outside in the forests, thankful to have survived another day out in the cruel forests.
Sometimes, the night was also a time for thrill and rebellious excitement, when teenage boys and girls ran out to the streets at night to clubs and parties, broke rules. When vibrant lights and voluminous music blasted from stereos all through the night, when two people found themselves in a bed, all over each other, their hands drawing masterpieces on each other's body, when two lovers lay down on top of a mushroom tree, watching the Lumino Crystals shine and sparkle as they fall asleep under each other's arms, the voluminous music blasting in the background. You normally expect seventeen and eighteen-year-olds to be out partying, or watching a movie, or sleeping, or hanging out with friends at this time. Maybe even studying.
But us, we're fighting the most feared monster in Slugterra.
Just our luck.
Cyan's daisy white and vibrant cyan mecha beast led the way to the cavern, the valiant, steel steed speeding through the woods on it's iron hooves, Cyan's back towards us as she looked straight ahead. My plum, metallic purple hyena mechabeast bounded after her mecha beast, it's claws digging into the sand, Lancaster's dark, metallic silver doe mecha following suit. He got his mecha before he met me, but I remember the first day I ever laughed after they rescued me from Blakk's Citadel. Ally and Lancaster were bickering over the mecha beast he chose as they ate dinner, after I trained with Ally, who gave me a lesson on stealth, which I didn't know needed training. I smiled as my mind recounted the incident clearly.
