Alana's POV

Things weren't looking too good.

We had a plan that worked for now, but as the time passed, we all knew it wouldn't continue to work. My limbs started to ache as turquoise light shone under my hands, the vibrant, cyan blue mixed with the chartreuse green from Anthony's essence, amplifying my powers. Healed people were crammed up behind me as more ghouled people stumbled through the small gap in the crystal, all covered in their own blood. Anthony's right hand glowed green on my shoulder as I healed more people, Anthony amplifying my powers. The dark energy prickled at my skin whenever my hands came in contact with the feverish skin of a ghouled person, their own dried blood covering their clothes, cracking in their pale faces, trickling out of their desperate eyes. But all I could do was put up with it as the dark energy in them faded away.

We all were protected only by Geoshard Crystal, the only way out being the small opening to let ghouled people that could be healed through. Leo was traveling through the room, outside the protective dome, trying to find an exit. Johnny defended the small opening in the crystal from the ghouled people, fending some off and keeping them from entering if they couldn't be helped. Leo and Anthony had tried accessing the Shadow Realm, but the Shadow Clan had blocked off the Shadow Realm from this area for the same reasons it blocked off the Deep Caverns: dark energy was a parasite, and if dark energy were to go into the Shadow Realm, it would wreck chaos on the energies of the whole universe.

I grimaced as my vision started to blur, the light from my hands flickering for a split second. We were down to two grenades, and so far, there was no sort of exit in sight. We tried to search for vents, but this place was ventilated by tiny holes in the ceiling protected by Dark Crystal. The elevator wasn't working due to a trigger that was activated whenever the bars rose, and there was no stairwell that led here. The only option was to eliminate all the dark energy here, and the trigger would be deactivated.

And that's why we were here, in the crystal dome, healing everyone we could.

"You alright, Alana?" Anthony asked, looking down at me concernedly, his sapphire blue eyes trying to detect signs of lying. I looked away, turning my concentration back to healing the two women in front of me. I blinked away the spots swimming around my eyes, trying not to pass out.

"I'll live." I responded grimly as I gritted my teeth, pushing through the fatigue. The last remnants of the dark energy faded away, and they thanked me before moving aside. Anthony frowned, his left hand quickly transferring to his earpiece. His eyes darted from place to place through the Geoshard wall, searching for a way out.

"Alpha, status on exits?" He asked, and static crackled for a while before Leo's voice echoed through the speaker, the snarls from the ghouled people growling in the background. Sweat trickled down my furrowed brow from a mix of worry and exhaustion, hearing the ghouled people nearby Leo.

"Well, you were othing's gonna open until the dark energy's under control or the people are behind those bars again, and that's all controlled externally, we're essentially stuck. Any chance you can punch the door open with your powers?" He suggested as slug fire echoed in the background, and Anthony quickly rebuked as he analyzed the area,

"I might break the elevator too, and no one would have a way out. We'll be trapping the rest here with us. And plus, I could also damage the walls, we all know how bad that'll go." Anthony reminded before we heard a pained yell. We turned out heads to the left, seeing Johnny get struck in the head, stumbling backward into the dome, before he quickly ran back out. But two fully ghouled people managed to slip through his mediocre protection, charging towards us. Anthony let out an irritated huff as he held up his left hand, his Infurnus, Bonfire hopping into his gauntlet blaster. He fired and the majestic, light orange slug soared through the air, fire trailing behind his megamorph as he showered fire down at the ghouled people, causing them to run back out. Bonfire flew back to Anthony once they were out, falling back onto his head. He glared at the struggling slinger at the entrance, his eyes filled with annoyance.
