I'm in pain. I hate my life. I hate those who are rich. I hate those who look down on us. We can be as special as the higher people. Why do they look down us. This. A story of a part of my life. The person I loved. Hide their true self, and destroyed the love.
His name was la bai. He was about the same height as me. He wore just a black long pants, and white t-shirt with a necktie. He had a black cape with a hood. No one really talked to him as he was a stranger. I went up to him and gave an apple to him. I couldn't see his eyes. He only smiled at me. I started to follow him, as his smile for some reason made my heart jump. He stopped and look at me. He smiled again which made me blush. I look and said an introduction.
"HI! umm. My name is Li luo! What's your name?" He hand stick up, waiting for a handshake. I grab it and shake it.
"Hello. My name is Li bai. It's nice to meet you."
At first he was weird for being so formal, but I didn't care.
"You wanna be friends? I wanna show you somewhere!"
"Umm sure-WAIT!"
I grab his hand and ran with him. Out of the village and up an hill to my favorite spot. I told him to climb the tall tree.
"Isn't that...not gentleman and lady like?"
"Your weird. We're not royalty, we live as like, but we aren't in good health like them, or have luxury beds, foods and money. There are things only villager could do, but mostly royalty have control."
I lent my hand out.
"Won't you climb with me?"
I smiled at him. He took my hand and we climb. We climb at the middle where my hideout, a mattress, with a cooler and fairy lights with flowers hanging. The tree was huge and a shelf with books and games. Their was a bathroom surprisingly with a wooden door. The mattress was huge for a 4 family member. Their was 4 pillows. When we both took our shoes off we went to the mattress. "Hey Li bai?"
"Hm?"
"Look."
She pointed to where the thin curtains were hanging and it showed the entire village and kingdom and the sun. It was the most beautiful thing you would ever seen. But I felt guilty. For what's to happen to her.
It has been 3 months that me and Li bai has been best friends. He would come around 12:00 to 6:00.
I couldn't believe what happen. My heart aches every time I see royalty. He abandon me. He forever did.
Our bond grew. We share secrets. Like i told him i work as a seller for my family. He was a traveler around the world. We both hated royalty. I finally had a friend who has the same interest and feeling. We played day by day, a knight came by one day while me and Li bai were playing. "Excuse me, but are you Li bai?"
"No, I'm s-"
"Li bai. Who are they?"
The knights drawed their swords out and pointed at me. I stood like a statue.
"Knights, Put your swords down! This INSTINCT!"
The swords drop and was put back. I stare in horror. Only knights. Royal knights listen. To royalty. I look at Li bai.
"Li bai........what are you hiding from me? Who are they? Why do they listen to you? Li bai!"
The wind blew. As it did, his clock came off. The knight grab it and all knee to him. I took a step back in horror. "L-l-Li b-b-bai.....It can't be! You were the prince?!"
"My name is Li bai. Prince of the bai family. Heir to throne."
I fall to my knees.
"Li luo! Are you ok-"
He came close to me and tried to give his hand but I slap it away from me.
"YOU LIED TO ME! YOU KNEW HOW MUCH I HATE ROYALTY! I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE SOMEONE TO UNDERSTAND ME! WHY DID YOU LIE THAT YOU WERE A TRAVELER?!"
"I-i-i-......wait!"
Swords to my neck for disrespecting the prince.
"HOW DARE YOU for hitting the prince! You will deserve a puishment by his highness!"
"I COMMAND YOU TO PUT YOUR SWORD AWAY FROM LI LOU!"
the knights still kept their swords on me. Tears running down my face. Pain. Lier. Hurts. Why? I look on the ground. He was not the person I knew.
"Li Lou! Please hear me out-"
"Give him back!"
"What?"
"GIVE LI BAD BACK! YOUR NOT HIM! GIVE HIM BACK! AHHH!" *Sobs* I had nothing to say anymore but cry my tears out. It's been 3 days since that happen. I hate the pain. It hurts. I havent cried since than. Every time i see his face i hide my pain. It hurts so much more than crying it out. Li bai hasn't visit me since then. I went to the first place I showed him. My secret hideout. I climb up. I sat down and look at picture I took with him. Tears, as cold as ice fall down my face.
Why do you hurt me so much when I have done nothing but be by your side?
The tears fall. I let out my scream. Hiding my pain. Was the most painful thing I ever experience. It was so much harder than being in pain. I cut myself till it bleeds. I scream. As those memories will never come back. They were all just fake. Fake from a fake person who betrayed me. My arms bleed. Being in pain wasn't so bad as hiding it all. After that day, my view of the world was dark. No light or color. Just grey, white, and black. Their was a royalty meeting. The royal familys sons birthday.....what was his name again? Oh...yeah Li bai birthday. They celebrated in town because that's what Li bai wanted. I started to head out of town because I didn't really care.
"LI LOU! HEY! LONG TIME NO SEE!"
I turned around to see Li bai waving at me and coming towards me. I stare at him. No emotion in me. He smiled at me and look at me. His expression became worried. "Are you ok? I ask for my birthday here so I could see you again."
I was speechless. I was emotionless. I had nothing to say. But..
"Why did you come?"
He stared at me but smiled.
"To see you, you idiot."
I turned around and walked away from him. He grab my arm and my injuries showed. I was in fear when I saw him shocked. I pulled my arm away and stood there motionless. "What happen to you Li lou....WHO HURTED YOU!"
I ran away but he still caught up and tackle me down. "Tell me Li luo! I'm worried!"
"IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU!"
He looked in shook.
"You left me for a month. 3 days after you left I cried day and night non stop. Now I can't even cry with feelings. My emotion are gone for happiness. My world view is grey, white and black. YOU TOOK EVERYTHING AWAY!"
He got off me. And for once I cried outside of my hiding spot. I covered my eyes. Letting tears overflow.
"Why would you hurt yourself still?"
"Being in pain isn't the hardest thing in life to endure. But hiding your pain is the hardest thing in life you can never endure....right now I don't want to see you. You broke me in half."
"Can I see you tomorrw at least? I'll give you time to relax. Please?"
"Fine."
"Promise?"
"Promise...hey Li bai?"
I give my all to you. You still took it for granted. You don't deserve me. I don't deserve the light.
Flower started to fall form the cherry blossom tree.
"Yea Li lou?"
"I.....i have my reasons why I act this way. Why I'm broken."
He came up to me and sat next to me and hug me and said.
"I'm here to listen."
"I love you."
He moved away from me in shocked. But moved closer to me. His soft, warm lips touch mine. And my first kiss was stolen by the man I loved before who broke it.
"I love you too."
I was glad he said that. My final moments in life was going to end. I don't want this pain. Even thou I'm happy for his words, he put me in pain. But I would love him for eternity. I gave him a sliver heart necklace with our names carved in the middle with diamond on the i's. Li bai X Li Lou. This was my last time seeing him.
"Keep that necklace even if you can't see me anymore."
He nodded. We said our goodbyes and left. The moon was rising. I will sleep here once more. The tree I first showed him. The dawn was rising the sun as red as crimson. I went to the tip of the place. I took one deep breath and took one step forward. Falling down the tree. I carefully said it as soft as a feather.
"I love you Li bai. If I never had this depression of pain I would have lived to be your wife."
