Their first year, Jim is that nerd who does the assignments as soon as they're given, reminds the teacher about assignments due and quizzes they were supposed to give out
Sebastian is the guy who got in on a scholarship but doesn't give care about any of the classes he's taking, and he sits in the back of the class with his feet on the desk and the teacher is lucky if he takes notes let alone tries on the homework or the tests
They hate each other
Near the end of the year, Sebastian gets caught up with the wrong kids and starts doing drugs
Jim saves him one time when he almost overdosed on the rugby field; who does that?
Sebastian being all moody that he had needed help at all, but early the next year when he sees Jim come into class first hour with bruises on his face, he bristles and asks Jim who did that to you?
Sebastian beating up the jerks who would dare to touch Jim
Jim immediately becoming smitten for Sebastian, and offering him a deal instead of outright saying that he had a soft spot for him
You stop shooting up or smoking or whatever it is that you do, and you just kind of hang around me so that I don't get beat up, and I'll help you with your homework and stuff
Sebastian agreeing and acting dumb for the first week or so just to make Jim feel good
Jim feeling shocked and almost hurt when he finds out that Sebastian is actually very very intelligent, but he hadn't cared enough to use his brain
Finally, the week before Jim goes to uni and Sebastian is shipped to Afghanistan, Sebastian finally kisses Jim and promises that he'll be back
