Jim has what Sebastian calls 'dark days' and when he first got close to the man Sebastian didn't know how to react to them at all. He had never seen a man look so broken, look so lost. Those large chocolate eyes filled with sadness, not rage.
It's only after a couple of months does Sebastian finally try to do something about it. He orders in Jim's favourite foods and 'guilty pleasure' movies. Putting his favourite tea and drinks on the table with the sofa covered in cushions and blankets.
At first Jim just sneers and looks as lost as ever but he still moves to the sofa, sitting near Sebastian but still a darkness to his mood. Half an hour in to the first movie Jim starts to pick at the food, an hour later he is engrossed in the movie drinking his tea.
Half way through the second movie his head has found it's way into Sebastian's lap. Half an hour later Sebastian bites his lip and takes a risk, starting to stroke Jim's hair and he startles when a ragged sob is suddenly drawn from the man.
Jim hides his face against Sebastian's stomach and holds him tightly, his voice muffled as he speaks so Sebastian has to pry him away to hear his words, chest clenching at the sight of the tears now staining Jim's face.
"Jim, what is it?"
"I-I, no one... I didn't know what it was like to feel cared for."
