Red furred creatures skittered across the rocky ground, chittering and squeaking. The morning Arion sun told them the start of the day, which the creatures knew was their time to sleep. Only meters away was a hole in a rock wall. Their haven, protected from the outside world.

"They look just like Bastion rodents." Drake quietly says.

Standing on top of the hole in the wall were Hank and Drake, both with wooden spears raised.

"Let's hope they taste a little better." Hank laughed.

"You won't taste anything if you're not fast enough!" Drake yelled, scaring the creatures.

Pressing off of the ledge, Drake jumped out. He landed directly in front of the hole, spear raised high above his head now, knowing he'd need his best aim and power.

Hank stayed put on the rock wall, raising his own spear.

Drake threw his arm forward, releasing the spear from his fingertips. The spear glided for only a second, cutting straight through one of the red creatures, imbedding into the rock floor.

"See, just like that." Drake stood proud of himself.

Hank gave no reply, only doing the same action as Drake. Hank's spear darted past Drake's head and shoulder without warning. Drake flinched, turning around to glare at Hank.

"What the hell was that?" Drake threw his arms up in frustration.

"Dinner, I suppose." Hank only smiled, pointing behind Drake.

They both now looked at Hank's kill, or to Drake's disdain, kills.

"Three? How did you get three?" Drake asked, ignoring the rest of the creatures running around his legs and into their haven hole.

"A little bit of patience, I reckon." Hank smiled sheepishly at his friend. The pair gathered their kills and made their way back to Gavin and Zara.

"You call them what?"

"Red Furries." Hank said with confidence.

"Yeah, they look like Bastion rodents. We called them Furries, but these ones are red." Drake concurred, holding his kill on his spear.

Zara shook her head, clearly disgusted. "Whatever you call them, I don't want anything to do with them until they're cooked."

"Yeah, they smell horrible." Gavin held his nose.

"On Bastion we lived in a big fortress city. The Duke was our leader, royal family and everything. The world outside of those walls was hostile, and I lived on the lower edges of the city." Drake paused, setting his kill down to start a fire. He continued to talk as he worked.

"Sometimes the little creatures would get in the fortress, things like these Furries. We didn't have much to eat, so we ate a lot of these guys." Drake stopped talking, his fire lit and casting light to everyone in the cave.

Hank laughed, "So what was the point of that little story man?"

Drake threw a rock at Hank, "Oh, like you have a more interesting story."

"Well it involves Gavin. The Outlaws were engaged in a skirmish with the local terrorist group on Rynot. After the battle was over, neither of us had our parents. We never got to see what happen to our parents exactly. The Outlaws picked us up, and we've been running as a duo ever since." Hank said.

Gavin nodded, remaining silent. They all looked to see if he had further input, but he gave none.

Drake stoked the fire, then began to skin his kill a small distance away from the group.
