8. The Monster

"Oh, where hath my love gone?"

"Shut up, before I shut you up."

Hank laughed, enjoying the irritation he caused in Drake.

"Seriously Hank, it's not that funny." Zara whined.

Gavin chuckled, walking along them. Nova and Haiden were also walking, smirking at Hank's teasing.

"Hey, it's not my fault you and Drake can't go two minutes without making out."

Zara blushed, Drake holding on to his cool composure.

"I was peeing, and he was concerned as to where I was, like any gentleman should be considering where we are."

"Yeah, but your little antics are costing us time." Hank said.

"That's true. You two need to calm down, before you get us killed by something. It's been two days since we landed, and you two have yet to let up on the sex."

Drake said nothing, leaving Zara to fed off her teammates.

"Alright, I agree. It's just, look at him! He's gorgeous!" Zara gushed.

Nova broke up the conversation, "Please let's change the subject before I puke."

Agreed.

"Oh, like you two are any better. You've been giving each other eyes ever since we got here." Zara laughed.

Gavin smiled, "They're not holding us up like you two. Just make sure you two can fight when we need you to, okay?"

"Yeah, we will. I'll be saving your ass like usual, Gavin." Drake looked back, smirking at their leader.

"You know Drake, sometimes I think you only say that to sound cool." Hank commented.

"You're catching on." Drake called back.

"Hold on people, I'm picking something up." Gavin commanded.

Everyone stopped in their tracks, looking at Gavin. He held a clear pad, that blinked green.

"My scanner is picking up a transmitter close by."

Hank jumped up, excitement kicking in.

"Finally! Once Sable is here, I'll be able to get that worm that bit me!"

Drake scoffed, "Who says we're getting Sable first?"

"The scanner is saying it's straight ahead," Gavin commented, point in front of them. They were traveling in the mountains still, with the only thing in front of them being a large boulder in the distance.

"The guy who's picking up the transmitter first!" Hank shouted, his packs and vest dropped to the ground as he sprinted, pushing past Drake.

"Oh hell no, you're not getting that transmitter!" Drake yelled, dropping his own gear and sprinting after Hank.

"Guys, that's probably not a good idea." Nova called out, leaving the four of them behind.

"Drake! Get the transmitter so we can call down Scepter!" Zara yelled out, the two of them too far gone to have heard her. She sprinted after them, leaving her gear still on.

"Let them have the moment. There's only so much exciting things here that we can enjoy that won't kill us."

Haiden smiled at Gavin.

That is true.

They picked up the fallen gear as they walked, eventually regrouping in front of the boulder.
