The exact day Louis turned 35 weeks pregnant was the day he made a decision.
Well, sort of a decision.
After giving everything a lot of thought, and contemplating what was best for himself and especially for his baby, he decided to give the adoption process another shot.
So he called Sally, the social worker from the adoption agency, and asked her to find new potential adoptive parents, and she right away said she already had a couple who would be perfect, and that met absolutely all the requirements he had asked for.
Louis was surprised, that so fast there was a new couple for him to meet, but he knew it was a good thing, considering how far along he was.
And he told himself that this was it, the last chance he gave adoption, and if he liked the couple, if they were as perfect as Sally said they were, he was going to give them his baby, but if he didn't like them... well, he had no idea what he was going to do.
So the meeting with the new couple was set for the Monday right after Louis made the call, making him 35 weeks and 4 days along, and it also happened to be Louis' free day at work, which he was glad about.
"Are you ready to go?" Harry asked peeking inside his room.
"Uhm..." Louis hesitated.
He was looking at himself in the mirror of his room, because for some reason he wanted to look good, but he looked like a whale. And it wasn't just that his belly was big, which he completely understood needed to happen, but the pregnancy had made his bum get bigger, not to mention his thighs, and even his face looked rounder.
"I guess I am" Louis shrugged, knowing there was nothing he could do.
"Lou, if you don't want to go, if you don't want to meet this people, you don't have to" Harry said softly.
"No, I wanna go" Louis said truthfully.
"But you were hesitating" Harry pointed out.
"Not because I don't want to go, but because I want to look nice, but I look fat" Louis sighed.
"You're not fat, you're pregnant" Harry was quick to say.
"I'm not talking about the bump, I'm talking about everything else; you didn't know me before I was pregnant, but I didn't look like this, I used to be in great shape" Louis told Harry.
"I bet you were, but if it makes you feel better, I think you still look great now" Harry said smiling.
"You do?" Louis asked, and couldn't help but blush.
"Yes" Harry smiled, and he seemed sincere.
"Thanks, Harry" Louis smiled back, needing that confidence boost.
"No problem" Harry answered "Now should we go?".
"Yes" Louis agreed.
Despite Louis saying he was fine taking the subway, Harry insisted to take an Uber to the adoption agency, claiming the tube was going to be packed at this time, and he didn't want Louis to have to stand for so long, or worst have his belly squished between all those people, which was very, very sweet of him.
"I'm nervous" Louis said, after they got off the Uber, but before they actually went inside the agency.
"Don't be, if you don't like them you can say no, just like last time" Harry assured him.
"I know, but I'm scared I might not be a good enough judge of character, like it happened last time" Louis revealed his fear.
"Just follow your instincts and you'll know if they're right or not" Harry encouraged him.
