After I finished my soup mom ordered me to go to sleep. Five days later I was completely cured. I was strong enough to move about. One day I was just sitting in the hall playing subway surfer on my phone when I felt like having some juice. So I said “I wish for a glass of Apple juice.” I love apple juice.

Suddenly Max called loudly “Mom you gotta see this.” I ran to him and saw Max was staring out of the window of our training room. Mom and Julian came in after me. Karen was out.

There was a creature the size of a pterodactyl heading towards our window at 100 kmp/h. When it was 5 metres away it hit an invisible resistance and couldn’t go anymore. With a jolt I realised it was the animal from my vision but I wasn’t in an airport. I was at home. After crashing into it a few more times suddenly there was a crash and the invisible wall broke. The monster hurtled towards us and crashed into the window.

It crashed with such force that all of us were lifted of our feet and thrown backwards. Max landed on a bean bag and mom on the sofa but I wasn’t so lucky. I crashed into the wall and I felt some ribs crack. A wave of excruciating pain almost made me black out. It was getting harder to breathe but just as quickly as it had come I felt the pain numbing and after a second completely fading.

Meanwhile the monster was momentarily distracted when it whacked its head on the projector. It gave us the time we needed to shake ourselves out of shock and get to action. Max shot a stream of flame at the monster and I summoned a bolt of lightning and directed it at the monsters head. Julian got a sword from somewhere and charged the monster.

The monster Max’s fire hit the monster on the back but its fur seems reinforced because the fire hardly caused any damage. The lightning bolt hit the monster on the face but even that didn’t do anything. The flames and the lightning had done nothing other than to make the thing even angrier. It roared and blew some sort of smoke which set fire to everything it touched. My glass of juice chose to appear at that precise moment. The smoke touched it and it exploded into flames. “That was my apple juice.” I yelled. “You are sooooo going to pay for that.” I pointed to a chair on fire and imagined it slamming into the creature. The chair moved into the air and towards the monster.

But the monster raised its wing at the exact time the chair started moving. I watched as its wing caught fire. Turns out I had found its weak spot. The wings were the only part of it not covered in fur. “Target the wings.” I yelled. Julian charged the monster and started slashing at the wing. The monster roared and threw furniture around. It swung its head at Julian with such force that Julian crashed into the wall and breaking it fell onto his bed in his bedroom.

He murmured something like “I think I’ll take a nap.” And promptly passed out. Meanwhile the monsters wing was extremely mangled. It was about to open its mouth and blow the steam again when my mom summoned a stream of water and channelled it inside the monster. I’m pretty sure monster’s can’t gag but this one seemed to. My mom yelled “It should have died by now.” I thought of something crazy and said to Max and my mom “Make it as mad as you can. You’ve got to get its mouth open.”

My mom and my darling brother started shooting whatever they could at it. They even pelted the monster with gummy bears and gummy burgers and some other types of candy which my brother happened to be eating which for some reason had survived the smoke. But my brother’s aim was so bad that half the candy fell on Julian. After some minutes the monster was worked up enough to open its mouth and try to blow the steam again.

I prepared myself and when the monster opened its mouth I shot several bolts of lightning into its mouth one after the other. The monster closed his mouth and a shudder went through its body. Suddenly it disintegrated.

A month back I would have shown some real perseverance and collapsed but three months of practising magic had strengthened me.I found my strength immediately. My mom ran to me and asked “How are you feeling?” “I’m great. Why?” I asked puzzled. My mom looked shocked “You slammed into a wall and you say you’re fine. You’re ribs aren’t cracked?” “Well I felt them crack but then they healed just as quickly.”

“You’re ribs healed by themselves?” Mom asked, looking incredulous. “Well I’m standing in front of you, aren’t I? But forget me. You need to see too Julian. Is he still out cold?” “He’s still out cold but nothings broken as far as I could see. Max is healing him.” I nodded.

Just then the bell rang. “Uh-oh” I said. “This is going to be tough to explain to Karen.” I ran to the door. As soon as she walked into the hall she said “Whaaat have you people been up to? What happened?” I gave her the shortest version possible, “Big monster, Destroyed have the house, broke the protective enchantments.” “What?  It got through the enchantments?” “Yep.”

Karen ran to the training room. Her mouth fell open when she saw the big hole in the wall and Julian on their bed still out cold but my mom was healing him. As we watched Julian sat up, groggily, saying “What happened? I had the strangest dream about monsters and gummy bears.”

I just laughed and said “Don’t worry about it.”

We spent the rest of the day fixing the house. The full time mom was trying to figure out how my ribs healed themselves. My mom kept saying “That’s not possible” But after sometime it started to get on my nerves so I asked her to stop saying it again and again.

But of course, she didn't listen.
