I sighed as I tied my apron around my waist. I was back to work, and I wasn't too pleased. It was a Saturday afternoon, absolutely gorgeous outside.

"Holy shit. You're okay." Chris murmured in a worried tone.

I looked at him, almost forgetting he existed. "You exist." I muttered as I clocked in.

"Listen, Keegan." He started, totally disregarding my statement. "Everyone's worried about you at school. None of us knew where you were, how you were doing. We all heard what happened."

I cackled. "And none of you decided to come see if I was okay. Ya'll probably thought 'Oh. She'll show up sooner or later. Her obituary isn't in the newspaper so she's good.' Thanks a lot, Chris."

Chris stood there, dumbfounded. "Keegan, I know you're hurt that I didn't show up to the party, or didn't come to see if you were okay. I'm sorry." He leaned on the sink. "Please, talk to me."

I pushed passed him, grabbed a pen and pad of paper to start taking orders. "I'm gonna graduate. And get the hell out of Charming."

I walked out to the dining room and waited on the family of four who just came in. None of them looked up when I came to the table, they were too busy looking at the menus. "What're your specials?" An older man with tanned skin, and greyed hair said as he looked at the menu. He had a Latino accent and a scar trailing down his sternum.

"Today our specials are two cheeseburger baskets for the price of one, and also a large portion of our loaded baked potato soup for the price of a small portion." I politely explained. The mother looked up, and looked as if she saw a ghost. She had curly, dirty blonde hair, with a few wrinkles here and there. Her eyes trailed to my name tag, and she went pale.

Then the two sons looked up. They looked like they could've been twins in some way. Both were blonde with blue eyes, and lean. "It'll take a while for us to decide." The mom choked out.

"Okay." I smiled. "Take your time."

I walked behind the counter and refilled any coffee's that needed refilling. "Keegan, someone's on the phone for you." My manager, Perla, called from the back.

I rushed to the kitchen, and grabbed the phone that was off the hook. "Hello?"

"Would it be too much if I came to visit you right about now?" Luke's warm voice drawled from the other end.

I looked behind me, to see Chris eavesdropping. I rolled my eyes, but smiled anyway. "That'd be great. I need something to take my mind off this place for awhile."

"Say no more." He hung up, then I heard the bells of the front door opening. Luke nonchalantly walked in.

"Son of a bitch." Chris muttered under his breath as he flipped a grilled cheese.

"Excuse me?" I growled.

Chris looked up. "Nothing."

Luke sat at the same stool he sat at when he first came to Charming. I walked to meet him. "Hey." I smiled. I handed him a mug, then filled it with coffee.

"Hey." He echoed as he stared at me with his tired eyes.

"I have to take the orders of this family, then I'll come wait on you." I winked before going into the dining room.

To my findings, the family left. It looked like the were never there. It was okay though, one less problem under my belt.

"What's up?" I asked quietly as I stood behind the counter.

Luke shrugged. "Nothing much. I wanted to talk to you about somethin'." He reached for my hand and held it softly. "I have to leave for a bit"

My heart race picked up. "What's going on? Are you okay?"

He glanced down for a second, then back up. "Just listen to me, and don't worry. I promise I'll be safe. It has to be done."

I wanted to break down right there. At this point, I was really protective over Luke, and I'm sure he was the same way about me. I didn't want him getting hurt, or getting locked up in any way. "You'll be smart?" I stared into his eyes. "No bank robbing, or killing anyone?"

"I'm going with Cash and Happy. We'll be good." He answered, kind of avoiding my question.

"So is he your boy toy now? He saved you at a party and now you're sitting on his dick? Is that it?" Chris yelled at me.

It was nearing 9 o'clock in the evening. Chris was smoking a cigarette, and I was bringing out the garbage.

"What the hell is with you?" I screamed back. "You don't know anything about Luke! Who are you to judge?"

"I have the right to believe he'll destroy you." He took a puff.

"What does that even mean?" I jutted out my hip and gave him a confused glare.

Chris put out the cigarette and walked closer to me. "Think about it, Keegan. He's a felon. He's a lot older than you! What are you thinking?!"

"My whole family is a bunch of criminals. Why don't you start worrying about your life, and stay the hell out of mine." I spat.
