Chapter 1

It's 6 AM on a Saturday and my sleepiness got washed away suddenly. Why? I don't know, but I think it might have had something to do with the fact that today was my birthday.
In my world, the werewolf world, you're able to find your mate on your 17th birthday and today happened to be the day. The 26th of October.

I have mixed feelings about mates, I mean, sure, having a person, who's willing to love you unconditionally for the rest of your life, next to you, is nice, but on the other hand, I was barely 17 and being tied down to one person didn't exactly meet my dreams at the moment.

Running my hands over my face in frustration, I decided to get up and maybe go on a morning run.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? Everyone's sleeping and they might get worried if you're missing from your bed when they come here at some point" asked my wolf, Faith, worriedly.
"Don't worry, we'll be back before anyone can notice anything. It's just a quick run, I need to clear my head." I said. Faith doesn't reply.

Our pack, the Stillwater pack, was located in North America, meaning that it's quite cold here, but I like it, I'd always liked the chilly weather more than the sun and besides, being a werewolf means, that I could barely feel the cold.
I stepped outside and took a deep breath in. Everything smelled like pine trees, it was refreshing. Something else lingered in the air, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"Just make sure to not cross the borderline, okay?" I only hummed in response. Sometimes I felt like Faith's too worried about everything, but I still love her, because we do share one body and mind after all. Well, kind of.

Why couldn't I cross the borderline, you might be asking right now. The thing is, there's an alpha living there, somewhere. I have never seen him, I don't think anyone really has, I don't even know his name, he likes his privacy and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a pack.

Therefore, he's the rogue alpha, an alpha gone rogue. He's earned the respect of neighboring packs because he's more beneficial than dangerous to us. He eliminates other rogues, who step onto his territory, therefore, the rogues are dead before they can set a foot on any neighboring packs. Even though all of that made him sound a bit like an angel, he's still dangerous, because he's
an alpha (and they're known to have a bad temper) and to not lose his trust and get him mad, no one was allowed to step onto his territory. Everyone respected that though because the rule is made for a reason.

I took off in a random direction, keeping a faster pace. I liked seeing the trees and bushes blur past me, because of how fast I was running. It was fascinating. It was still dark outside, the sun won't rise for at least an hour, but I didn't mind much. It- I stopped mid-thought and turned my head left in alert. I had heard something, probably a twig, snapping. I sniffed the air, trying to catch a foreign smell, but came up with nothing, only the slight smell of.. something still lingered in the air, a bit stronger than it was before. It didn't smell like a rogue though and I hadn't crossed our pack's border, so what could it be? I turned and took small steps in the direction of the smell.

"Farrah, curiosity killed the cat, remember?"
"Stop worrying so much, if I detect anything dangerous, I'll run" I replied and cut the connection between us.
Everything's quiet, so I sniffed the air again, and sure enough, the scent had gotten harder to detect, meaning, the source of it had gone farther away. Damn it. I stopped walking, trying to stay as quiet as possible. A couple of seconds passed and I was about to give up and turn around when another twig snaps, and then another.
I saw a figure moving in the trees and took off running in the direction of the figure, hoping to catch the person. Yes, that was probably a bad idea, because it could've been a hunter or something. I shook that thought off and pushed my legs to move faster, too curious to stop now. It seemed like every time I moved forward by a foot, the person moved two.
It was a man. A tall, muscular and a topless man.
"Hey, wait up! Who are you?" I yelled out, but he, of course, didn't answer, damn it. I was already out of breath from trying to keep up with his ridiculously long strides.
So after a while, I stopped, giving up. One thing was sure though- never had I ever seen such a handsome back before.

Hi!
I've decided to write a story, it's not my first one, but its the first one I really feel a connection with.
English is not my first language, so I apologize for any grammar and spelling errors, but I'll try my best to avoid them. :) Feel free to point them out, but not in a rude way, please.
Thank you for reading the first chapter and should I continue with the story?
