"I don't think you've officially met before, this is Liv, my best friend, and Liam, her, uhm, friend. Guys, this is Ryker," I voiced when Ryker and I had finally found Liv and another individual in a close proximity to her, Liam.
Ryker nodded his head to Liv and shook hands with Liam, though a little too tightly, it seemed because I could hear Liam's quiet wince and he let go as quick as he possibly could.
Liv leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear: "Be careful with your hunk, I've heard pretty much every female in this house talk about wanting him," I didn't reply and gave her a nod instead. That wasn't a surprise, the ladies from our pack have never been subtle and have never known when to keep their eyes and words to themselves. I turned to my mate and suggested we head to the dining hall. We nodded to the pair and walked in the direction of the wonderful smell.
"Hey, Far, over here!" I turned around when I heard my name being called and saw Cole waving us to him. I pulled Ryker with me and we headed to one of the ends of the table. I gave Cole a hug once we reached him and introduced Ryker to him because those two hadn't officially met either. We took a seat next to him, Cole on my right and Ryker on my left side and right next to Ryker, at the end of the table, was our Alpha, my parents were also on my right next to Cole. When I looked up, I saw almost every female looking at the handsome human being next to me and I let out a low growl. Yes, okay, maybe I wasn't really into the idea of mates, but I certainly also wasn't into the idea of giving him to anyone else either.
I tore my gaze away from them when I felt a warm hand on my knee. I looked down and up again and turned to my right looking at the owner of it. He leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear: "You should control your emotions, one could think you had a thing for me." He sat back up straight, a smug smirk on his face, but his hand still on my knee. Bastard. But he was right, even though he was probably joking, he was still right - I needed to control myself.

Dinner sucked, to say the least. The girls never stopped staring, the Alpha kept bugging Ryker with all sorts of questions throughout the whole dinner and I could sense Ryker becoming slightly irritated. He wasn't used to it, being a man of few words. I also didn't have any time to chat with my own family, because each of them seemed to have someone else to talk to and I didn't want to interfere. So you could say we were both more than relieved when it was finally time to go home.
We were at the front door, saying our goodbyes to my family and the Alpha, Liv and Liam had already gone off to somewhere, when the Alpha offered that we could just spend the night there, since it was already pretty late. Thankfully Ryker declined the offer in about a millisecond, saying that we liked to sleep at our own house, which was obviously a made up excuse, but something about him referring to it as "our house", made my insides swell up. I nodded to back him up and we exited the house.
-------------
It was almost 1 AM when we got home, so both of us were pretty much headed straight to bed, but Ryker went up to his office to do something and I made a stop at Murphy's to take him out for a few minutes, so he'd have a dry night, you know.
I pulled the hems of my jacket closer to myself when I felt the icy wind biting my skin. I mentally prayed Murphy would be quick today so we could just go back inside. We didn't keep Murphy on a leash because he knew how to behave, but that meant that when he leaped off somewhere in the dark, I couldn't really trace him, only by his smell.
"Murphy! Come here, big boy! Oh, I might have a treat for you!" I tried to call him back to me, but he was nowhere to be found. After a few minutes, I decided to go a bit deeper into the woods to find him, as I was getting slightly worried.
Everything was eerie silent, but I suddenly heard a rustling in the bushes. Immediately assuming it was him, I walked closer to the bush. "Come out, big boy!" I tried calling him once more, but then everything got silent again. I reached my hand out towards the bush when an animal jumped out and bit my hand. I fell backward and ended up on the ground, the animal standing in a way, which made it pretty obvious he was gonna attack. I realized it was a fox, but something in its eyes was different than usual, they were somehow almost evil. I suddenly remembered I was a wolf and at least three times bigger than this little one, so I gave it my loudest growl and it leaped away with its tail between its legs.
My hand had a pretty nasty bitemark, it was already healing, but I should probably clean it. When I walked through the front door, I saw Ryker standing there holding a happy looking Murphy.
"Oh, thank God, here you are, is he okay?" I asked Ryker while ruffling Murphy's fur.
"Yeah, I found him by the back door, where were you?" He replied.
"I lost him for a minute and then this crazy fox jumped out and b-" I stopped because I didn't want him to know I got bit by something a lot smaller than me. He'd think I'm weak and I didn't want that.
"It what?" he asked.
"Oh, nothing. Anyway, I'm gonna head to bed, see you tomorrow," I gave him and Murphy a quick side hug and ran upstairs. Coming to a stop in front of my door, I realized what I'd just done. I gave him a hug. I guess it wasn't really a biggie, right? People do it all the time. But you and Ryker don't, Farrah. Well, he'll probably forget it by morning, it's fine. I opened the door and went inside, forcing my thoughts down.
--------------------
The next few weeks kind of blurred by with nothing exciting really happening and soon it was time for Christmas. When I asked Ryker where he kept his Christmas decor, he looked at me weirdly and said he didn't celebrate Christmas.
"At all?" It was a surprise, but what was I expecting, he lived alone and probably didn't have much of a family to be with. That thought made me sad and I felt sympathy making its way into me, but I didn't say anything. I wanted to celebrate Christmas and especially because he'd probably never had a good Christmas and I wanted to give him one, or at least try my best to do that.
I spent a whole Saturday shopping with Liv and my mom to get some Christmas lights and other little things to put around the house, but I didn't find a good gift for him. I wanted it to be something meaningful, but since I'd known him for such a short period of time, I really had no idea what it should be.
When I got home that day, Ryker was surprised, to say the least. He didn't understand why I went all this way for some "stupid holiday" as he called it. I didn't let him bring me down and spent a good few hours decorating the living room.
--------------
And in a few weeks, Christmas finally made its way to us, I had decided to stay home with Ryker, so I gave my gifts to Liv and my family a day earlier than usually, but I didn't mind and neither did they - they understood, it was a new situation for all of us.
I cooked some chicken and chocolate pudding, even Ryker gave me a hand, but we still decided to keep it simple and not go overboard with the food, since there really were just the two of us.
At the end of the slightly awkward dinner (because neither of us really said anything, but it wasn't really necessary either, it was more comfortable than awkward) I brought my gift for him because I couldn't wait any longer, I was a bit too excited.
He looked at me questioningly when I handed him the little silver gift.
"Open it, " I said with a small smile.

I'm sorry for the long wait again! I had a bit of a writers block and didn't wanna upload a crappy chapter, though I'm not exactly proud of this one, either.

Vlkodlaci"Hey, wait up! Who are you?" I yelled out, but he didn't answer. Damn it. I was already out of breath from trying to keep up with his ridiculously long strides. So after a while, I stopped, giving up. One thing was sure though- never had I ever see...
