20 minutes have passed of me sitting in the office by myself. I am seriously mad at Mrs. C. It's not really my fault that I was talking. She never said we could't talk in the classroom, so I took my chance.
Another boring 20 minutes pass as I'm waiting patiently for someone to come out and yell at me. I then stand up and call out to see if anyone answers. "Hello? Is anyone in here? I've been sitting out here for a while."
I give up trying to get someone to come out. I finally sit back down in a chair. My eyes wander around the room, looking at posters, flyers, and other things hanging on the wall.
As another 20 minutes pass as I sit in the office, it gets really boring just sitting there for 40 minutes. No one had ever come out of any room. I start to doze off uncomfortably in my seat.
Then, a loud bursting voice comes through the door. "Ugh! People irritate me!" It's Grace! I was so happy to see her that I got up and squeezed the crap out of her. I was worried something bad had happened to her ever since she left the class.
"Grace! Where have you been?! I thought you were in here for, like, the past 40 minutes!" I shout at her while shaking her shoulders. I don't really care who hears me because I've got worse problems.
Grace looks at me with a careless grinning face. "I've been roaming round the hallways. You actually thought I was gonna listen to that old, piece-of-crap teacher?"
She's right. Why would I think that she would actually listen to Mrs. C? Grace is the super outgoing, care-free person. She does what she wants and when someone tells her otherwise, she flips on them. The only person she doesn't do that to is me. Well, at least, that I know of right now. Grace could be hiding something from me, but I trust her way too much to over-assume something like that.
"I didn't think on that one. Sorry," I say sympathetically. I'm the kind of person that forgives everyone, but sometimes way too often for some people. Luckily, she's my best friend, so I always forgive her.
"It's cool, girl!" she screams. "So where is everyone? No one's in here or even in the hallways. What's going on?"
"I don't really know. That's what I was wondering. I called a few times earlier, but no one answered or came out to check who it was," I explain.
This was getting really weird. No one was walking in the halls. No one was in the office. Grace looks at me with a blank face until it suddenly turns into an evil smirk. I think she has an idea.
I'm scared of what her ideas are. Once in 7th grade, she made me shave her cat and she called me "Mrs. Shaven-Mah-Wittle-Kitty" (That's just a name I made up because her's was WAY worse than that.)
"Hm... Strange... Maybe since no one's here..." her voice, whispering and trailing off into nothing. I look at her with a scared face. She scares the fricking CRAP out of me.
I whisper back to her, "Oh gosh... What are you thinking, Grace?"
"We should trash the whole office with anything and everything we can find."
"But we'll get caught!"
Grace replies, "Not if no one's around, we won't." She winks at me with an evil smile.
I'm really scared about this. I've never done anything bad like this before. I'm the innocent kind of person. I never get in any trouble. I don't know if I should do it or not. But then, my brain decides for me. "Let's do it." We trash the place with papers everywhere on the ground and everything is messed up.
Our friend Jared Avacado then walks in, looking really surprised at what we're doing. Jared is shorter than both of us. He's Hispanic like me, but I feel bad for Grace. She's the stand-out white-girl. Jared was someone I used to like, but then things changed, so I'm not really interested in him anymore.
"What's going on in here?" Jared yells. Grace and I turn around, both of our faces pale as ever. We didn't want him to tell anyone. "Are you trashing the office?"
I scaredly answer, "Uh... Yes...?"
"Cool! Let me join!" he replies back immidiately.
There we are. All three of us, screwing up the main office. We knew something would happen, but people wouldn't know it was us making this mess. I never had this much fun in my life before. Who says the innocent, gentle, and quiet can't have fun?
