I sit on the table of the brightly lit room for somewhere around 10 minutes. There's nothing I can really do here. Sitting and standing are pretty much my only options of doing something. It's so boring doing nothing for once in my life. My phone died not too long ago, so I have no contact with anyone until I charge it. I was planning on texting Kai to come and get me, but that's out of the question.
Kai! Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about her! I wonder what she's been doing this whole time. Has she been looking for me ever since I disappeared the other day? Was she the one that sent out the Rescue Team to go and save me from the abyss? Wait a second... Did Kai know that I was down there? It's all so confusing to me and I can't figure out what is going on.
I finally decide to get off my lazy butt and walk over to the door exit. I need some time to at least think of what happened. As I reach for the doorknob, I just remembered something embarrassing. I look like crap. My hair is a mess, scars and bruises are all over me, and bandages are wrapped around me. Before I leave the room, I slowly open the door so that there's a crack between the wall and the door. I peek my eye in there to see if anyone in the area I'm at. From my point-of-view, I don't see anyone in the hallways. That makes my one chance to leave that terrible place of my beatings. I sneak out the hallway, check for any people walking around, and run away as fast as I can.
I run down every hallway looking for someone I know. Just someone. I haven't found anyone yet. The halls are so empty and dark-looking. Not even that Rescue Team was in any place of the school. I wonder where they had went... I still can't get over the fact that the one Rescue worker is my long-lost-unidentified love. I know that he wasn't faking it in any way. He was very true with his feelings, actions, and words towards me. I must find out who that mystery person is! From now until I find out who he really is, I will give him a name. He will be called L.L.U.L., which stands for long-lost-unidentified love. (Don't look at it like that! I couldn't think of anything else!)
I'm still running, thinking about my L.L.U.L. and looking for a close buddy. I run past the freshman wing, the attendance office, the cafeteria, and the art room that I have my art class in. I dash past all these and make a non-hesitant turn for the gymnasium. As soon as I'm in there, I make a two-second stop and immediately run for the girls' locker room. No one would come to look for me in here. I think to myself.
When I open the door, it's dark in the room. I run to the back of the end rows of lockers. Suddenly, when I make a sharp turn, I hardly crash into someone that looked like was about to leave. I whip my head back up to them, turn on a really frustrated face, and yell at them. "Hey! Watch where you're-"
The person looks at me with red eyes and pale face. She looks very surprised to see me. "Crystal?" she asks me. I'm confused for a second until my eyes finally adjust to the lighting in the room.
"Kai?" I answer back to her.
She's smiling back really widely at me. "Crystal!!" Kai goes to grab me for a tight hug.
"Kai!!" I yell as I tightly grab her back. I can't believe I found her! I finally found my best friend!
I let go to let her breathe some air before I squeezed the crap out of her. I take a step back and look at her. She looks like a mess... Kai looks kind of like me right now. Her hair is really frizzy, her clothes are ripped, and has several cuts and scars. What the heck happened to her? Has she been through something similar as I did? I wanted to ask Kai what happened to her, but I don't want to push her to spill anything if she just came out of something bad.
Kai smiles widely from ear to ear. She's crying tears like a river. Kai seems to have missed me. "OH MY G-O-S-H CRYSTAL! I SERIOUSLY FREAKING MISSED YOU!"
I'm crying with her. "I missed you, too, Kai!" I say as I try my best to clearly say them while crying. "I can't believe I finally found you after the past few days!"
"I know! Where have you been!?"
I smile really big at Kai. "It's way too long of a story and I'll explain it later when we get together with everyone else! What matters is that I found you and you're okay! We start crying a waterfall on each other's shoulders as we tightly hug again. Our friendship means so much to us. I step up away from her, still crying, but with so much joy as well. I smile at her and say, "Well, our makeup completes our outfits, doesn't it?"
Kai laughs as she tries to breathe. "Yes, absolutely! I look like Tarzan, except the female version."
I then imitate Tarzan as I bang my fists on my chest and make weird noises. This results in Kai bursting out laughing. If we were ever to get stuck on an island together, the first thing we'd do is mess around about things like saying GOODBYYYE CRUEL WORRLD!
I settle down from laughing with Kai. As much as I missed her, I'm still curious about why she looks so much like I do right now. Then, I get more into a serious matter, just enough to ask her stuff on what recently happened. "So, one quick question for ya, girl."
Kai shakes her head. "Hit me with it."
"Why do you look so much like me? Scars, cuts, hair, clothes? Where have you been?" I sound like an investigator. It's like I'm on a mission to find out what stupid things my best friend had gotten herself into. Knowing Kai, it could be anything.
Kai looks down at herself for a little. She then looks back up at me with wide eyes. "Uh... I was... Um... Looking for you..." she says, her voice not sounding truthful and not confident. Then, Kai's eyes trail away. Her eyes aren't contacting with mine. Something must be wrong.
"Are you okay? You don't seem like yourself," I ask Kai.
She looks at me like she just saw a ghost. "Oh, um, yea. I'm fine... Just, uh, thinking of something that happened before we found each other..."
I look at her with eyes that say that I know she's scared. Kai just shrugs her shoulders and looks at me like nothing happened. I've been stuck in a hole with someone I don't like for more than a day. I just want to be happy now that I'm with my best friend. I'm just really glad that I've reunited with her.
