A bright light is shining through a window high up in the room. It's so bright that my eyes start to flutter open. My vision is pretty blurry, but I can make out my own body. My head, I'm guessing, has been hanging down.
My sight is finally clear and I can see much better now. But then I notice something... My legs and ankles are tied together. This is confusing me so much. I slowly lift my head up from its position. The crick in my neck is killing me. I go to reach my neck to soothe it, but I notice my hands are tied up as well.
What is happening? Why am I tied up? Where are all my C.C.'s? All these questions are running through my head. I try to free myself by fidgeting around with the ropes. As always, I failed...
BANG! A door slams from somewhere behind me in the giant, dark, empty room. There's only a single light, dangling from the ceiling above me. Then, I hear footsteps coming towards me. I freeze in my chair. The closer the steps get, the louder they get and the more I become scared.
A pair of hands are placed on my shoulders. They are warm as a burning flame. I could just cuddle with them all day. "I'm sorry about all of this, sweetheart," says a soft voice behind me. I'm too scared to see who it is. Their one hand then leads underneath my chin as they come in front of me. "You just look so cute when you're confused," he says with a grin. I can now finally see who it is.
Alexander Dashler, one of my guy friends. He is somewhere around 6 feet tall. He has gentle green, hazel eyes. Alex had dirty blond hair, which it wished I had because in my opinion, I love blond hair!
"Alex..." I say, relieved from my fear, as I bat my eyes at him and smile. "You scared the crap out of me. I thought you were some killer."
"Sorry. I didn't mean to do that," he replies passionately. "I only tied you up because I know you'd freak out, bang on the door, and get an officer's attention."
A confused look spreads on my face. "An officer? What do you mean?"
"Officers. Police officers," he explains as he bends down to untie the ropes around my ankles, "they're everywhere in the school. Said something about three people missing and a strange man... Walking around in all black..."
It all comes back to me. The guy in all black... The guy I saw before I fainted... He's still here? I thought he would be gone by now. "Hey, are you okay?" Alex asks. I can feel the blood draining from my head. Alex cups his hands into my face to make sure I'm feeling alright.
"Oh, yea. I'm fine. Just thinking..." My voice trails off as I think more about the past.
"Okay, hun. Just tell me if anything is wrong," he says caringly.
*
We're in the dark room for about an hour. Luckily, there was a soda and candy machine in there so we could have something to eat and drink. We barely talked the whole time, reason being that we could somehow get caught. I found out that we were in a room that no one in the school knows about or goes to. Hopefully, it stays that way until the "man" is found and put in jail, or something, so we can leave here.
"Hey, Crystal," says Alex. He's sitting by the AC. It's really hot in the room though.
I look up at him from my hands. I've been fidgeting with them for most of the time. "Yea?"
"Can I ask you something?"
I get really nervous when someone says that. It makes me think of everything bad I've ever done. I'm not the one to get in trouble anywhere, but at home, I'm a demon.
I reply, "Sure. Anything."
He stands up from the vent. He slowly walks towards me, looking at the floor. "Have I ever told you... That I liked you?"
"Y-y-you do?" I say, stuttering and stumbling over my own words.
"Haven't you noticed? I call you names like 'sweetheart' and 'hun'."
"I thought those were names that you made sarcasticly," I reply. I seriously thought they were.
He smiles, ear to ear, laughing quietly. "Never." Alex grabs my waist as he finally approaches me and smiles. "You are very intelligent and smart. And, uh... Seriously beautiful..."
"You really mean that?"
He pulls me in closer to his body and face. "Of course..."
He leans in to kiss me. NO NO STOP!! I think to myself. I didn't like him like that! But before he gets anywhere closer to me, there's a banging at the door. THANK GOODNESS! I quick looked at Alex. I thought this room was a never-to-be-found place! The banging at the door gets louder.
"Is anyone in here?" says a voice behind the door. BANG BANG BANG! I'm starting to get really scared. We're doomed. We're going to get caught.
I am then lifted off my feet. Alex picked me up and he's heading towards a broken wood area in the corner of the room. He kicks his foot down and a dark abyss appears. "We have to jump down. It's our only chance to get away from them."
I look at him like he's crazy. "Jump in there!? What's down there!?"
He looks at me with a face of frustration. "Our only hope of escape."
He bends down, hangs onto the edge of the abyss, still holding onto me. He pulls a desk over the hole so no one knows we were here. I slip out of his arm and I'm falling down, into the hole. Did he do it on purpose? Did he purposely let me fall when he was "pulling over" the desk above the hole?
Alex turns and looks at me as I fall, with anger in his voice. "Crystal!"
"ALEX!!" He then disappears out of my sight.
