Waiters rushed about in their casual uniforms that consisted of a amusing white polka dotted bow tie. Nicki's eyes scanned the menu once again before her eyes landed on the one section that peaked her interest, seafood. "I'll have the salmon and mashed potatoes with squash" she told the waiter before handing him her menu. He thanked her and walked off towards the kitchen with her order. She sipped on the raspberry lemonade that had been ordered for her and smiled at the flavor.

"Where's bey?" She asked the man sitting across from her , he put his phone down finally giving her all his attention since they had arrived. "She insists on keeping her job so she went to work" jay informed her , nicki laughed in understanding and confusion. To an outsider it would seem completely foolish to keep a job when your partner happened to be well endowed. But on the inside she knew that sitting around had become a boring game fast, the waiting the one week hobbies and the abundant amount of free time spent watching cooking videos. "Lucky her" she sighed moving a blue strand of hair away from her face. Jay chuckled "Nika what you been doing all this time to be jealous of a nine to five ?" He asked her. She giggled before sighing , "I just don't have anything to do. I cook and clean which I don't mind they didn't ask me to, but I'm so bored just sitting there all day. When I go out it's to the mall and I've never been a mall bird" nicki explained to him
"I dunno I just feel ...like I need a new thing to do for a long time"

The little girl inside her that had been put away at a young age had been slowly finding her way out. She stopped having a big dream the day her mother went missing, she didn't see the point of having one if she would be all alone. But her hobbies were turning into learning sessions , makeup had become daily experiments. Her clothes were not that of your usual patron and her hair was another personality in itself. "What did you do before Nas moved you ?" Jay asked , in their time together they knew all the little things about each other. Last names childhood moments that stuck with them, mostly funny ones , the way they both reacted to their mothers deaths family problems. But the basic things were missing , "I just worked in the diner , I told you" she said to him. Behind his sunglasses he studied her "yeah but you started when you was young right, You couldn't have wanted to work there forever you ain't wanna be nothing else ?" She played with her nails as she rolled her tongue while she thought. "I don't think I ever really wanted to be anything jay, I just wanted to keep my lights on"

That kind of mindset was for someone who didn't want a life to be living. I can't fathom her being that person who didn't talk to anyone and just followed the same routine day in and day out. For her to be bored of this new one must mean something happened, something I presume is good because it made her want more out of her life. I knew a lot about Nicki which is why I know now that her ambitions would be putting us all through hell soon.

"When did you stop seeing your therapist?" I asked , she looked up at me her pupils dilating. "You and Nas running background checks on me is getting creepy." She told me
Folding her arms "I didn't run one on you Nic relax, you tell me what you want to and I learn. Why'd you stop going?" She shifted before mumbling to me "I didn't want to talk to her I felt like a project to her". I nodded my head understanding how she could feel that way "did she help?"
