The Doctors

Korra's POV:

Bacon is so good!!! I made sure to eat slowly this time. I wonder what bacon is made out of...
"It's pig honey." Mommy said as she laid out my clothes for today.
"What?" Auntie looked confused.
"It's nothing. After you've finished I want you to take a shower and get dressed for me; I'm gonna make you a lunch box for the day." I nodded and played with my collar a bit. It's really snug around my neck, always reminding me of who I belong to.
"Can you take the shower with me?" A slight blush was on mommy's face and auntie choked on her food.
"Behave today and I will think about it for tomorrow." With that she kissed my forehead and left the room.
Violent coughing was coming from Rachel.
"Are you okay? Do you need water?"
"Fine! I'm fine, just surprised is all."

The pack house is huge! It's really nice to, so many people. Is this what I could have had if I had a family?
"What are you thinking about honey?" Mommy asked while parking in front of the house.
"Nothing..."
"Are you feeling good?"
"Ya just a lot of new smells." I know I shouldn't lie but I don't want to talk right now.
"Okay so we are just gonna have to go through the back so no one sees you two." Rachel lead the way. I wonder what it would be like to have wolf friends my age...
Maybe we would hunt together and watch movies and talk about everything. I missed out on so much.
"Hello there little one! My name is Doctor. Holly. I'm gonna be giving you your check up today! Rachel told me all about you." I was zoned out thinking. So I just nodded.

Nova's POV:

Korra's been acting weird since we got here, just staring into the distance.
"So I'm gonna give her a full check up. Blood work, physical and update her shots."
"Thank you so much. You are really saving my life."
"Well I do own Rachel a few favors..." The two shared a look that told a past of lovers.
Of course, well at least Rachel's polygamy is helping for once.
"But you can't stay here."
"Why not?"
"Its not my rule but the alpha is gonna get really upset if he smells a vampire on our property."
Well I can't just leave Korra by herself.
"This shouldn't take more than two hours really. So just come back then."
"Rachel can I trust you to look after Korra?"
She nodded yes but was staring at the doctor. Hell no. I mind linked her.
If something happens to Korra, I will skin your ass and make it my walk in rug are we clear?
Rachel's face drained of color and she nodded yes looking at me. That's a better response.
"Okay little one, I'm gonna be back before you know it and we can get ice cream if you are well behaved."
"I don't want you to go..." she mumbled out.
"I don't want to go, but I have to. So I will see you in a bit okay?" She started to sniffle.
"No baby, I'm coming back in a little bit." I kissed her slowly and whispered in her ear, "I love you." Her tears stopped and she blushed.
"Okay mommy."

I sat in the car listening to the radio waiting for time to pass. I can't believe I said I love you.
I mean I do love her, she's everything I want in my little. I never thought I would say it so soon but it looked like she needed to hear it.
Something is bothering me though I can't put my finger on it...
I wish I didn't have to leave her alone. What kind of rule is it not to allow vampires on your property?!
It's not uncommon for wolves to have vampire mates. Some people are just stuck in the past.
Looking down at the clock only ten minutes had passed. I banged my head against the steering wheel. This is gonna be a long two hours but what could happen?

Korra's POV:

"Okay sweetie you are all finished." Why are there so many needles?! She poked me so many times! Why did she take my blood and touch me in weird places?! She handed me a stick and rubbed my head.
"You are in good shape physically; you should be eating more however so your wolf can grow." The doctor wrote more things down.
"You aren't gonna eat your lollipop?" Auntie asked me.
"What this?" I looked down at the stick.
"Ya here." She took the wrapping off and popped it in my mouth. Oh my gosh!!!! This is so sweet!!!
"Thank you doctor!" Looking up from her notes she gave me a smile.
"Why doesn't she know what a lollipop is?"
They started to talk about things but I wanted auntie to show me around the house.
"Auntie can you show me around?"
"I'm talking right now honey."
"Please?" She sighed.
"You can walk around by yourself, don't worry you are safe."
With that I went up the stairs to a large room. There are so many people! They are all laughing together and having fun...
I spent so many years alone.
Before I could react I was swept off my feet.
A man with green eyes was holding me off the ground.
"You aren't a pack member here. Are you a spy?"
"No! I'm just here for a doctors appointment sir."
"Sir?" He laughed to himself. "You know your not supposed to be here."
"I know I'm sorry."
"Hey! Don't be sad, I'm just messing with you. You're way to small to be a threat to anyone." He carried me away from the people and into the kitchen. Sitting me on the counter he grabbed a sandwich and cut it in half. Handing me one half, he look a bite of his piece.
"You don't have a pack do you?"
"No." I whispered out.
"You are welcome to stay here then, I'm sorry if I upset you before, I'm working on my people skills." He looked sincere. I wonder why he's being so nice.
I took a bite of the sandwich.
"What's your name?"
"Me?" He smiled.
"Well my name is Zachariah. This is my pack. What about you?"
"Oh my name is Korra."
"Korra huh? Well it was nice to met you but I have work to do. If you need me just howl." He ran his hand through my hair and disappeared.
I look another bite of my sandwich, I wonder were mommy is... I have a lot to tell her about today.
"Hey you, were you just talking to the alpha?!" A girl ran up to me. Why is she being loud?
I nodded hoping she would go away.
"He never talks to anyone! Especially puppies! You have to come with me." She's making me uncomfortable.
"No...I!" She grabbed me an pulled me to the back yard. There were other kids.
"Hey guys alpha was talking to her!"
"What about? She isn't from here."
"Why is she wearing a collar?"
"That's weird, answer us, why are you wearing that?"
I could feel my myself start to panic. Where is mommy? I started running to the house but someone landed on me. A sharp pain ripped through my arm.
"Don't run! Answer the question!"
"Please let me go!!! You're hurting me! It was just a gift from my mommy!"
"Mommy?!" Their faces turned with disgust.
Everything went black.
