Nova's POV:

Walking into the restaurant I held my baby's hand. I can't believe I couldn't just buy the building without having to met this man. I saw Nick sitting at a round table with a glass of wine. We joined him.
"Did you ask your dom to drink?" He gave me a big smile.
"It's nice to see you too. No, this is with dinner. I usually only ask daddy to play with myself."
"Nick!" I motioned to Korra mortified.
"Oh right, sorry." I turned to Korra. She was too busy playing with her tail to notice us. I draped my arm around her chair.
"So where is he?"
"I don't know he's late."
"No I'm not! Well technically yes but I'm here now!" A large man with a beard sat at the table with us.
"Hi let's get this started."
"Yes, it was nice meeting your husband but seeing as he couldn't sign any paperwork I wanted to met you." My husband? Oh he must mean Nick.
"No she's mine!" Korra bursted out angry. She stood up growling at the man. I gently pulled on the back of her shirt so she doesn't jump over the table at him. It's not like her to pick a fight.
"She's yours?" He looked confused and disgusted.
"Baby calm down and sit, this is just a simple misunderstanding." She did as I asked but she was clearly furious.
"I'm sorry, can I get your name sir?"
"The name is Phillip. So he's not your husband." He pointed at Nick.
"No that's not her fucking husband! I'm her partner!!!!" Before I knew it she shifted into her wolf. But it wasn't the small pup I'm used to, she was fully grown.
I didn't know her wolf could get that big! She rushed Phillip tackling him to the ground, hovering over his body ready to rip out his throat.
"Korra no what are you doing?!" She just ignored me and focused on the human under her. Shit shit shit I can't let her do anything reckless.
"Korra, baby girl, leave the man alone and come to mommy." She turned to look at me and she stopped growling. She sat directly on his chest. He started to become red, probably having trouble breathing under her weight.
"Come here baby girl no one is trying to take me from you." She walked to me and sat at my feet. What the hell got into her? Why is her wolf huge all of a sudden? Phillip stood up angrily coughing.
"I demand an apology from your mutt!"
Oh hell no.
"I can understand why you're upset with my partner but there's no need to be rude. I would really like to get down to business."
"Fine I want 10 percent down and you can start paying rent to me."
"I'm sorry, I didn't come here to talk about rent. I want to buy you out, didn't nick discuss this with you?"
"After that stunt I want rent."
"No."
"What?!"
"I didn't come all the way out here for that deal. My original offer stands."
"You don't have any power here. I have other buyers. Last chance."
I stood up and beckoned Korra and Nick to follow me out of the restaurant.

Korra had mind linked me while we drove back to the hotel. She had to sit in the back seat because her wolf was so large. I sighed softly to myself. What am I supposed to do now? We were going to look at cabins but I don't know anymore, without a business here I think I'm better off buying one back home. Fuck I really wanted that storefront, I don't need it my other clubs are doing fine but ugh...
"Nova we are here." Nick said as he got out of the car.
"Right." I was planning on using the extra money for the cabin. Now I'm gonna have to rearrange things, fuck I spent so much time planning.
Looking back at Korra I wondered to myself. Did her wolf get big to protect me? I should talk to Rachel about this.

Korra's POV

I've never seen red like that before...
I think I heard my wolf say something.

That's it?! 19 years and one word?! Why didn't you show up when the humans were burning our home down? Fucking asshole. Now mommy lost her deal all because my wolf couldn't handle being disrespected. I mean I could see why that man thought Nick was her husband.
They seem close enough and she looks at him like she cares for him. Whatever.
"I can start looking for other properties in the area. Maybe we can set up meetings for this week so this trip isn't a complete bust." Nick scrolled through his phone.
"No. Lets not rush any decisions on a new location. We aren't desperate to expand."
Taking a long breath she continued.
"It was bad luck today, we can think about work tomorrow. Get some rest. I know you want to call your man." Nick couldn't keep the grin to himself.
"If you say so boss." He gave her a big hug goodbye.
A growl started to build in my chest.
Mommy clearly heard it and narrowed her emerald eyes at me. But I wouldn't back down to her gaze, he shouldn't be touching my partner.
"I don't know what you think you are doing little girl but we don't challenge friends. I don't care how big you get. Behave."
I could feel my wolf stirring more in my stomach, I stopped growling but kept my eyes locked on Nick.
"Don't worry I leaving now." He rushed out feeling the tension in the room.
"What has gotten into you?" She looked at me with worry in her eyes.
I would answer but I really don't know. I just want to go back to our apartment and watch movies.
"Fine don't answer. But behavior like this won't be rewarded. There won't be a steak on your plate until you can talk to me about your feelings."
She walked away clearly upsept with me. But this isn't my fault! Stupid wolf! Why don't you come out and say something?! Why are you even around if you arent gonna help me?
I started to angrly chase my tail. Stupid club, stupid man, stupid hotel...

The echo in my head vanished. The room slowly started to feel bigger around me as strength left my body. What was that about?
