YK

The next day at school is terrible. Everybody's attention is captured by me, everybody stares in class, gossips. In the corridor it's worse; as I walk, books hugged to my chest, some actually stop to stare. I expected this really, you can't date the Victor Nikiforov and not get noticed. But this isn't just being noticed, it's more, it's worse.

I reach my locker and I'm just about to open it when a loud slap of a hand makes me jump out of my skin. The hand is tanned, artificially. It wears diamond wrings and has long white acrylic nails. It's not hard to guess who the owner of it is.

"Hello Yuuri" Eva says as if she's about to interrogate me. When I turn to face her, her and her short brunette minion, the look in her light green eyes does have that exact intent written all over them.

"Hi" I give her a weird look before turning back and storing my books. The hand doesn't move. She doesn't go anywhere. It's incredibly odd, she's only spoken to me once before, she batted her lashes and twirled her hair, she said hey, I walked off. It was shortly after she publicly yelled at Victor. She wasn't in my good books at all. She still isn't.

"So... you and Victor?"

"Yes. Victor and I" closing my locker, I turn back to her, waiting to be verbally trashed on.

"You didn't strike me as..."

"As what? Gay?"

"Yes. It's interesting isn't it?" She asks her minion. She nods, blowing a bubble out of pink gum.

"I heard somewhere that he's bi" she points her red nail at me as if I were a product in a store.

"Really?" Eva smirks, her gloss sparkling under the white light; "if I knew that we would be dating" she winks. I cringe internally.

"We really wouldn't" I don't mean to say it so flatly. But I do. Yes, I am bi but no I would never stoop as low as Eva.

"Listen to you, you think you're so above everyone don't you?" Her brow creases in irritation and it's as I glance around for a way out that I notice people a watching. Some even filming.

"No" I reply, busy looking over her shoulder to see if Victor's anywhere to be seen. We agreed to go straight to mine and start cooking.

"You know, you don't just date a guy because he's the only one you're friends with. What do we call that Mel?"

"Desperate" she gives me a dirty look, tossing back her hair.

"That's it" Eva says with painful sarcasm dripping from every letter.

"Are you done? I have somewhere to be" some people gasp but I really don't see what's so scandalous, I really do have somewhere to be and she really is wasting my time.

"Oh no, I want to know about Carson. He told me you two dated"

"We did" I can't hide suprise, I thought he'd be too ashamed of me to tell anyone about it that openly.  Well, I'm not fat anymore, I guess that could be it.

"Wow you really punched above your weight didn't you? He's gorgeous isn't he?"

"Totally" Mel says to her phone more than Eva, nodding as her nails make annoying tapping sounds against her screen.
