Demi's POV:

We traveled by bus, out of New York to a forest nearby. It took us more than 30 minutes to get into the deep woods. The sun started to sink behind the horizon and a small amount of mist had spread itself between the trees. We eventually, after passing an incredibly long hedge, encountered a big house. It looked old and abandoned. Ketua turned around and stopped the group. Selena let go of my hand and looked around, the excitement was written all over her face. Seeing her so happy made me smile. "Guests, this is our house." He smiles and pointed at the big building with an open hand. I inspected the garden a bit, as the others walked towards the front door. Many spots on the ground were burned into ashes. More speakers were placed against the pillars of the awning. A few trees were capped unprofessionally. The front door didn't look well maintained. Ketua opened the door and let me and Selena step in after him. Despite the piles of dust and the old wood, the house looked quite nice. It contained old pieces of furniture. It kind of reminded me of Selena's old hut of a house. She was glad to leave that thing. This house was better maintained though.

Selena's POV:

After showing us around, the group guided us to the garden. "So, Anti means your shadows spared you?" Demi asked. "Yes, but there aren't many like us." Jarak replied with a smile on his face. Irama smiled and took a good look at me. "Et, what's your specialty?" His white smile was white and cheerful, yet I didn't understand what he was talking about. "My specialty?" Ketua now stepped in front of Demi and I. "Every Penarik has a specialty, but how easily can you know that you have one if you devoted your life to a group of shadows?" He smiled as well. "I don't think I know mine, but what do you mean by specialty?" Ketua looked over at Sage. The Indonesian boy nodded and looked at Demi. Ketua stepped in front of her with his hands folded. "What is your name again miss?" He asked. How could he have forgotten the name of his own guest? Demi inhaled to speak. "Its-.." Suddenly she stops herself and frowns. "My name?" "Yes, just a simple question." "It's.. uh.." Mata and the twins laughed. I looked confused at Demi. "Demi." I say with my eyes stuck on hers. She looks back at me. "What?" "It's Demi." I repeat. Demi smiled nervously as if she had no idea what I was talking about. She looked back at Ketua. "This, my friend, is Sage's specialty. He can make people forget things. Even the easiest things as their names. What's your name again?" "Demi." "Good." He grinned. "Okay... So can I make people forget things?" I asked excitedly. "No, Sage can, you can do something else. Everyone has something different." "What can you do?" I asked while looking at the blonde man. He smiled for a moment and stepped forward. "I, my dear friend, can intimidate." He towered over me. I couldn't help but lower my head. I stood there with a tail between my legs. It made me feel insecure, but also safe. He's good. Demi looked surprised at the two of us. Ketua stopped and stepped away. "Bini, my love, show 'em what you got." He placed a hand on her back. "Of course." She looked at Demi with a smile on her face. I didn't want her to do anything to Demi, but on the other hand, I was too curious about what could happen. These 'specialties' are like magical powers. Demi looks at me, for a moment I thought that nothing was happening, but a second later she started laughing. "I'm sorry." She placed a hand in front of her mouth. She couldn't help but grin. "Can she make people laugh?" "She can influence people's emotions." Jarak clarified while standing arm in arm with Mata. Bini smiled while observing Demi. "That's enough, she's gonna pee her pants." Ketua crossed his arms. Demi finally stopped laughing and wiped away her happy tears, catching her breath. My eyes were still stuck on Mata. "What can you do?" "Me?" "Yes." I said. "My specialty works best with this tough guy over here." She grinned while softly pushing Jarak's chest.

I was gone right away. I didn't see them anymore. I could hear the ocean and screaming seagulls. I felt how my vision became clearer. A Caribbean blue ocean and I was standing on the beach. I could feel the sand between my toes. And the wind playing with my hair. My eyes widened. I swear to god I was in the forest a second ago. "W..wh.." I tried to speak but I was too perplexed to say a word. "This isn't real." I heard Jarak's voice. "What do you see?" I could feel Demi taking my hand. I didn't see her hand though, this was so weird. "The ocean." I smiled. This is cool. "Mata can make people see things, I can make people hear, feel and taste things." Jarak explained. Their specialties really did match. "This is so cool." I grinned. My original sight slowly turned back to me. I rubbed my eyes and smiled. That felt too weird. "Are you okay?" "Yes of course." I looked at Demi's worried eyes. "I feel great." I grin. "And now it's our turn." Irama shouted while running towards a tree. Ketukan ran after him while laughing. "Ey! Bun it up!" Irama placed the sides of his fists against the tree and started drumming a beat. I couldn't believe what I heard. The sounds that came from him were metallic and awesome. The beat he made sounded very appealing. I grinned as I watched Irama go wild, while Ketua danced to it for a while, bending his arms behind his back and neck like a true bone-breaker. After dancing he joined Irama's beat with a better one, and with another metallic sound, slamming with his hands and feet against the ground. "Yo, hear what we say! Me spidy-sense tell me seal the deal. Watch out! They can't escape. Original ragga from London city! That's right, we're everywhere, we come in just like a pimp. Ragga twins bust it up on the stage! Hold tight, it's about to get live. Prepare for when we blow 'way your windpipe!" They rapped in sync as if they knew exactly what they were going to say. As if they could read each other's thoughts. And their voices had turned sort of metallic. The two boys sounded like twenty. It sounded amazing.
