Demi's POV
..."...for her own good..."......"...to Ketua?" "I think so..."...
..."She's just stirring." "Don't wake her up just yet."...
..."Breathing stable?" "Yes." "She has so much fat in her flesh." "Every human has more flesh." "It surprises me every time. I find it quite beautiful. She looks so alive." "That's probably why some of them call us zombies." "She looks like an angel." "Have you made your decision yet, mistress?" "Hmm. No. I want to find out what made her join a pack of our kind." "You think she might be worth living still?" "I did not say that. But if this Anti-Pack took her in for a while, she must be a special case." "I wonder what was the cause of it as well. I think she's coming to." "Make sure she's restrained well enough. We cannot let her escape." "What will your choice be, mistress? Execution or mind elimination?" "Let's attempt your specialty first." "Very well, mistress." "Go get me when you're done." "Yes, mistress."
The moment I heard the door closing behind me, I opened my eyes slowly. Dimmed fluorescent tube blinded me at first until I was aware of the fact that I laid on a table, in the middle of a small white room. I shot up quickly, trying to get out of the situation, but I bounced back on the table due to the restraints holding me back. I hissed and coughed a bit due to whatever was bounded around my neck that was tightening. The skinny boy in the corner of the room lifted his head to me. "Don't even try human. You're just like the rest. Not observing the moment, just fleeing or attacking as soon as possible. Stupid human reflexes." He got up, walking around me. A Penarik in full form, yet it was talking to me and not dancing like a mindless slave. The Asian boy stared at me with his grey blurry eyes. I didn't really want to talk to him, so I kept my mouth shut. I tried to come up with a plan to escape, not that I could think of anything. "Try to flee all you want. Soon it no longer matters. You'll be a mindless body." He placed a small key in the restrains to untie me. I sat up, looking at him. He was planning to do something, and my curiosity won from my instinct to flee. "Don't worry. It won't hurt." He said, placing a hand on my shoulder. My body began to tremble a bit. "What are you gonna do?" I asked, frowning. "My specialty." His eyes pierced through mine, as my mind started to feel blurry.
Selena's POV:
"Ketua... Ketua." I shook his shoulder. "Not now, woman. I'm sleeping." "It's me. Siren." I said, standing at the edge of his bed. He opened his eyes and sat up. "Oh. Haven't seen you in a while. What's up?" "I think something's wrong with Demi." I spoke, fidgeting my fingers. Bini now opened her eyes too and turned to us. "She was supposed to crash at an old friend's house but she never arrived." I explained. "Listen to me kid, Demetria decided to leave the pack, then she can take care of herself. She doesn't need our help." "How can you say that? What if she does?" I asked, perplexed by his statement. "None of our concern. She's a human, we can't help her." It infuriated me. I sat down on his bed grabbing his shirt. "Listen to me, if you don't want to help her for her, then do it for me. I care more about Demi than anyone in this world and I need her to be saf-" My words got cut off by that hand he wrapped around my wrist. He twisted it behind my back, further than I could take. A small yell left my throat. "How about you listen to me for once. You will never, ever grab my shirt like that again and you will not command me what to do. Understood?" He threatened. I could barely reply to him, another squeak sounded from my side. "I said understood?" He twisted my arm even further. It was close to breaking by now. "Yes! Yes! Ouh!" "Ketua." Bini spoke, suggesting to let me go. Ketua's eyes pointed to Bini for a moment, as he let go of my arm. I ran from his bed as soon as soon as I was free from his grip. I placed a hand on my arm, rubbing it. The tears filled my eyes slowly. My face pointed to my side, as my eyes pointed, over my shoulder, at the two for a moment. I saw how Ketua laid down again, and Bini looked concerned at me. It was clear. They were not going to help me. I had to do this on my own. I had to find Demi on my own. I sighed and closed the door behind me.
