He was standing by the pond. His hands stuck in his pockets, his light blue eyes reflecting the pond. Clara watched him with an awe look upon his face, wondering if what she was seeing was true. Black hair curled at the nape of his neck. Strong jaw and high cheek bones. He was the most gorgeous thing Clara has ever seen. He stood still as a statue. She began to think he was just that, a statue. Then he moved. His head moved, then his while body, which rippled with muscle. Clara gasped and stepped back, into the morning light. His head spun to her. Their eyes met and horror filled his light blue ones. His eyes widen and he took off.

Clara wanted to go after him, to call out to him. She was curious on how he was to be. Humans went extinct hundreds of years ago. Fairies, Vampires, Werewolves and other kind of monsters lived, but Humans? Unheard of.

She walks home, taking her time. Her mind was racing with thoughts. Her belief that humans existed thrilled her. But who would believe her? He ram off and she might not be able to find him again. She giggled with glee. Her neighbor, Sadie, watched her pass by with an amused look.

Clara walked in the house, her heart blooming. Her sister was sitting in a rocking chair, by a window, reading a book. Her sister was older than Clara by two years and she was out in charge when Mother and Father left in business. Her sister was about a foot taller. Being Fairies, they had different eye colors reflecting their personality. Her sister had dark yellow, reflecting her inner calm and bubbly attitude.

Clara's was unique. Her parents seemed concerned about her eyes color. Clara was always confused why they shied away about talking about it. Her parents told her about a year ago why it was an unique color for a Fairy. Bright purple was the color of a believer.

"Jamie, guess what?" Clara spoke excitedly.

"What, Clara? You saw a Human?" Jamie replied, not looking up from her book.

Startled, Clara stared at her. "Actually, yes, I did."

Jamie's head snapped up, her dark yellow eyes narrowed. "I was joking, Clara. You know there is no such thing as a Human."

"I'm telling you, Humans are real. I saw one by the pond!" Clara argued furiously.

Her sister sighed. "Everyone else stopped believing in humans when they were little. You should stop, too. It's unhealthy."

"But I swear, I saw one." Clara exclaimed, frustrated that no one would believe her.

"Of course you did." Jamie shook her head and went back to reading.

Clara, fed up, stomped to her room. She sat on her bed heavily and stated at the wall. She knew her belief was stronger than everyone else's. Clara never gave up, trying to prove that Humans still existed. She stood up. An idea coming to her head.

She grinned and began putting on dark clothing. She knew she would be punished if found outside of the home after curfew, but it was a risk she knew she had to make. Leaving a note just in case someone decided to check up on her, she hauled herself over the window sill.

She landed with a thud and froze, waiting for someone to yell at her to get back inside, but of course, no one would ever think the daughter of the Council would disobey the law. She ran lightly on her feet, passed the streets and to the park, near the pond. Clara watched for any movements, by the old tree she was at when she first spotted the Human.

Clara moved steadily toward it, looking for the path the Human took after he saw her. In the dark, it was hard to see, but she saw a tiny path. She grinned and slipped into the dark forest without a sound.

The path was all dirt, blending in with the forest. Her eyebrows furrowed. It was as if the Human lived her for a while. The path went on forever, almost never ending. It has been used recently and her lips twitched. This whole thing felt wrong.

Finally, she made it to a clearing. In the clearing was a house. It wasn't an old house. It was almost a mansion. The light was on in the bottom room. The door opened and a man walked out. Clara froze. It was the Human she saw before.

He froze and looked at her wide eyed. Clara almost stopped breathing. He was gorgeous.

"Who are you?" The words tumbled out her mouth.

He raised an eye brow. "Who are you?"

"My name is Clara, Daughter of the Council."

His eyes narrowed and his lips twitched into a frown. "What are you?"

Clara hesitated. She felt as if she shouldn't tell him. "I know you're a human. "

He flinched. "You shouldn't have seen me and you shouldn't be here."

Her eyes flashed. "You're real and everyone else think your extinct!"

The Human let out a incredulous laugh. "Humans? Extinct? Sweetheart, we inherit this damn planet."

She raised an eyebrow. "But you've been gone for over a hundred years."

"Clara. Have you ever left your little town and through the forest surrounding it?"

She shook her head. "We were told not to because there are more dangerous monsters out there."

"Yes. Humans. Hunters." He retorted. "Your species ran because you're almost all extinct. And you've probably breed a lot."

Clara stepped back, not feeling welcome at all anymore. "That's why everyone was scared of believing in humans after a while."

The Human came to her. They stood close to each other. Neither saying a word. He sighed. "You're beautiful, Clara. And I hope to see you again. But it's forbidden to aby human to love a supernatural."

Clara felt her cheeks warm. "I hope.yp see you again too." She smirked. "Forbidden or not. My belief is true."
