-Skylar's POV-

Anthony and I were being escorted out of the bus driver's house by the Untimelys, who dressed pretty well for working for the dead. I glanced up and tried to see what the guy who was holding me's face looked like. But it didn't look like he had a face at all. I cocked my head to the side and inquired, "Mind taking off your hat?"

He glared down at me and made a hissing sound.

"Sorry..." I murmured under my breath as I averted my attention to my feet.

"Don't talk to them, Skylar," The bus driver, who I guess was really Death, said to me. He was being handled by another Untimely and trying to squirm out of their hold. But the more and more he attempted to break free, the tighter and tighter the Untimely's grip got. I could see the pain in the bus driver's face.

"Where are you taking us?" Anthony growled, trying to do the same thing Death did. Except he didn't keep trying once the Untimely squeezed his upper arms.

"Oh...just somewhere where I know you'll never be found and I can do what I need to do without being caught," Kalel's mom answered slyly as she walked in front of us, directing her henchmen outside and to a black van.

The Untimelys threw Anthony, Death, and I into the back of the van and slammed the doors shut, locking them just before the bus driver, who was the closest to them, could push them open. I could barely see anything - the windows were painted over and there wasn't a crack in the pain to allow sunlight in. The only light was from the very narrow gap in-between the doors. Even then I couldn't see anything.

"Damn it..." Death cursed under his breath.

The van roared to life and off we were to where Kalel's mom was taking us.

I hung my head in my hands and mumbled, "Anthony's right...this isn't real...this isn't real..."

"But it is," Death answered me, though I wasn't looking for an answer.

"How?" Anthony spat at him, "How is any of this possible? My best friend died. My girlfriend's missing. You're Death. Death! Kalel's mom is fucking evil! She works for the dead. The dead. THE FUCKING DEAD. How can any of this be real?"

"Calm down, man," Death retorted.

"Calm down!?!" Anthony exclaimed, trying to stand up but failing and hitting his head on the ceiling of the van. He plopped back down on the floor and clutched his head with his hand. "How the fuck do you expect me to calm down when all of this seems like a dream?" He gasped, "Oh my god...this is a dream."

"No, don't think this is a..." Death tried to tell him, but Anthony was sticking to his theory.

"No...this has to be a dream! Ian's not really dead! Kalel's not really missing! We're not really in this van right now!" He was sounding crazy now, "I just have to wake up and..."

Death lunged over to him and cupped his hand over Anthony's mouth. "Stop. Just stop it right now. You're not dreaming, Anthony. There is no waking up and everything will be back to normal. You are awake. This is for real. Just stop sounding like a mad man." He remarked.

I remained silent. It seemed to be the best thing to do. Look where talking got us. In the back of van Kalel's mom was driving to a place where no one will ever find us.

"Ian?" Anthony muffled through Death's hand.

"Ian? No, I'm Death."

"No," Anthony pulled out of Death's hold and crawled over to me, "You're...you're Ian. I know it."

"No, I'm Death," He repeated.

"Sky," Anthony looked down at me, "Tell me that he isn't Ian!" He pointed to the shadow who was sitting across from us. I opened my mouth to say something, but was unsuccessful. "Tell me that he isn't Ian!"

"I..."

"C'mon!" He cut me off, "His voice sounds exactly like Ian's. His hand...it was just like Ian's."

"How do you know what Ian's hand feels like?" I managed to ask.

"Never mind," He was quick to respond, "But that's Ian! I know it!"

"Great," Death remarked, "I'm going to have to explain this again...I already told this to your girlfriend, but I'm not Ian. I just..."

"Wait...did you just say to my girlfriend?" Anthony cut him off.

"Yes."

"So you know where she is?"

"That's not the point...I just..."

"You knew where she was all this time and you didn't tell me!?!" Anthony yelled at Death. I rolled my eyes and leaned back against the wall of the van. Here he goes again on his anger fit... "You seriously knew all along where my girlfriend was and you didn't fucking tell me!?!"

"Calm..."

"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!" Anthony boomed.

"Stop!" I cried, holding Anthony back to the best of my abilities before he killed Death. Except...come to think of it, how could you kill something that's already dead?

"HE'S A FUCKING LIAR, SKY!" He shouted, "HE FUCKING LIED TO US!"

"I didn't lie to you!" Death yelled back.

"YOU LIAR!"

"Stop!" I screamed.

Just then, the car came to an immediate stop and the three of us flew into the wall that separated us from the front seat. We sat there for a little, waiting for something to happen. Just then, the doors swung open and the Untimelys and Kalel's mom blocked the sunlight from blinding us.

"We're here," Kalel's mom announced, "Now, you can cooperate with us and get out of the vehicle or we can get you out ourselves. Which would you prefer?"

-Kalel's POV-

I sat in an uncomfortable chair, glaring at the well-dressed and insanely tall man standing before me. He was lighting a cigarette which he put in his mouth. "So what am I doing here, again?" I questioned.

"Shut up," He retorted, blowing smoke in my face.

I coughed and waved the smoke out of my face, "Well that's not very nice seeing as I'm your boss's daughter."

"Shut up."

"No!" I protested.

He tilted his head up slightly, "Shut up before I kill you."

"Do it!" I challenged.

This guy shook his head and took another puff of smoke. I rolled my eyes and turned my head to see the doors of the room we were in open. My mother walked throught the doors followed by my friends - Skylar and Anthony. "Oh my god!" I exclaimed as I jumped to my feet and ran up to Anthony, pulling him into a hug. He hugged me back.

"Get your hands off of him," My mother ordered. I stepped away from my boyfriend and glared at her.

"What the hell mom?" I snapped at her, "Why are we here?"

My mother smirked evilly.
