-Anthony's POV-
"Mrs. Cullen?" I inquired, "What are you doing here? And who the hell are the people standing behind you?"
"They're just a few friends of mine," She answered sweetly, "Now it's my turn to ask what you're doing here, Anthony."
I looked over at Skylar as she cleared her throat, "Mrs. Cullen, something terrible happened."
"What happened, dear?"
Skylar heaved a sigh, "When we were coming back from our day out a couple of days ago, we got into this really bad car crash. This bus driver was nice enough to give us a ride and let us stay at his place while we got ourselves together."
"Well that's very nice of him," Kalel's mom retorted, "But I only see you and Anthony, where are my daughter and that bowl-haired kid? Ian, I think?" Skylar and I both hung our heads.
I scratched behind my head, "Ian died in the car crash...after it blew up in flames." Mrs. Cullen gasped, "And Kalel...she's gone missing. I don't know if she's still alive or dead."
Mrs. Cullen appeared indifferent when I told her the news. In fact, I think I saw her smirk.
One of the three men tapped her on the shoulder and whispered something into her ear. She looked back at us and crossed her arms over her chest, whispering something back to the tall figure. I was perplexed. I didn't know what was happening.
Just then, the bus driver said, "Well, it was nice to see you, Mrs. Cullen and friends, but we really should be getting on our way..." He extended his arm out to Skylar and I.
We began to walk into the front room when Mrs. Cullen called out, "Oh, we're not done here."
"Sure we are," The bus driver retorted coldly.
"No."
"What did you come here for anyways, Mrs. Cullen? Or should I say..." Just before he could finish his sentence, one of the figures clamped their hand over the bus driver's mouth.
"Keep your mouth shut, Death," Kalel's mom growled at the poor man who was knelt down on the ground and held there. She raised her hand to smack him.
I gulped, "Wait..." Mrs. Cullen looked over at me, "What did you come here for? And how did you find us?"
She lowered her hand to her side and sighed, "Anthony, I wouldn't tell this to anyone. But you're different. And there's some things you just don't realize. And that you'll never understand. The connection I have with this man..." She pointed to the bus driver, "And these men..." Behind her to the two men who weren't helping Kalel's mom hurt him, "And you two..." To Skylar and me, "It's just...something you'll never get."
"I'm lost," Skylar murmured under her breath.
"You should be," Mrs. Cullen reassured her, "Because I'm not just Anthony's missing girlfriend's mom. I work for the dead. And there's two ways we can do this, Skylar and Anthony," She clasped her hands together and grinned evilly. Skylar clung onto my arm. I looked down at her as she looked up at me. "It's cute, you two, really," Mrs. Cullen commented. I looked back at her, "But if one of you doesn't comply with me, things are going to get nasty." My eyes widened.
-Kalel's POV-
After Death told me my mother wanted me dead, he also told me that she was going after my friends too. He still forgot to tell me why it was the four of us and not just me.
He then went onto explain that the reason why he put Skylar and Anthony in that house was because it was the safest place he could think of. He said he couldn't let them just go home - the Untimelys would be there waiting for them. He couldn't take them to where he really lives (he didn't live in that house, it was one of his friend's places) - again, the Untimelys would be there waiting for them. So he thought his friend's house would be the best place to take them. But I didn't believe him and told him to go check that my friends were okay. After a lot of arguing that we were in the middle of nowhere and he would have to walk all that way, he agreed to check on them.
That left me to myself and this tour bus. There was only one thing for me to do really - go find my mom and talk to her about this, maybe even stop her from doing any harm to my friends.

I pushed open the front door and called, "Mom?" I stepped through the threshold and closed the door behind me, "Mom!"
I walked into the living room and saw that everything looked normal. The magazines on the coffee table were neatly stacked. The lamp that my mother left on at night was still on. I went to turn it off. After that, I walked into the kitchen. Again, everything looked normal. All of the dishes were cleaned and put away. There was even a plate of cold pancakes sitting on the island. I picked one up and took a bite of it.
"Mom!" I screamed with a full mouth of pancake. I walked upstairs and checked all the possible places my mother could be - her bedroom, her closet, the office, the bathroom, my bedroom. But she was nowhere to be found.
"MOM!" I shouted as I rushed downstairs, only to see a tall man standing in the living room He wore a nice suit and had a hat that covered his face completely. "Wh-who are you?" I asked as I slowly made my way into the room.
"That's not of importance," He retorted in a deep, demon-like voice. "But there's two ways we can do this, Cullen's daughter. You see, your friends, Skylar and Anthony, they've already complied."
"Complied? Complied to what?"
He laughed heartily, "Oh, you're so stupid."
"Excuse me?" I snapped at him.
"Anyways, as I was saying, there's two ways we can do this: you agree to come with me and no one gets hurt. Or you resist coming with me and someone," He coughed and under his breath said "A.K.A. you," He straightened his posture and continued, "will get hurt. But it's all up to you."
Author's Note: Okay, this book is total bull shit and I kind of have a very vague idea of what's going to happen for the rest of the book. BUT, whatever. Don't forget to tell me what you think and thanks for reading! -rac06h10ael
