====Jacob's P.O.V.====
Im worried about Gracie. I didn't get to say goodbye to her yesterday. She was walking with Elton. I hate Elton. I hope he tells the truth. To be honest I don't even know all of it. I only know my side of the story. I'm not gonna forgive him though. I don't care what story he comes up with. I'm not gonna let him make me feel sorry for him. He probably is coming up with something right now.
The bell rings. Right now is usually the time that I wake up. I didn't sleep too well though so I woke up earlier. At least I think I woke up earlier. For all I know, this could be the bell for lunch. So instead, I'm sitting on my bed. I think I'm gonna skip whatever meal this is though. I'm kinda tired. I find myself staring at the wall again. I tend to do that more often now.
Someone knocks on my door. I wonder, will they go away if I don't answer it? Whoever it is knocks again. I guess not. I get off my bed and go to the door. I open it as the other person starts to knock again. When I open the door I see Jacob and Gracie waiting for me. Jacob is standing sideways, facing Gracie and Gracie is facing me.
"See I told you Grace, he's in his room." Jacob says. Gracie doesn't answer. I look over at Gracie and see her staring at me. Confused I look down and realize that I'm not wearing a shirt. I shut the door quickly.
She noticed. She saw. She saw the scars. I have a lot of them. I haven't showed them to anyone. Gracie knew they were there, but I haven't showed her either. Jason wasn't looking, so he hopefully didn't see. They knock on the door again. I pick up a random shirt and put it on as fast as I can before opening the door again and smiling at Gracie and Jason.
"Hey guys! Is it lunch time already? I thought it was time for breakfast. I must have missed it then huh!" I say all of this quickly, while trying to pretend that I didn't shut the door.
"Hey Jacob! Yes, you missed breakfast. Dude, we had waffles this morning! You should've been there, they were pretty good!" Jason says casually. Gracie stays quiet.
"Alright then, I don't want to miss lunch now. Let's get going I'm hungry." I say, still smiling at them.
"Yep! C'mon let's go." Jason says. He turns and starts walking down the hall. I close the door and follow him. Gracie starts walking beside me.
"You know, your shirt is inside out," Gracie says quietly, "also, I can see this." She reaches behind me and I feel a small tug on one of my feathers. I widen my eyes and quickly try to move my shirt to cover my wings better.
"Hurry up guys! Let's get there before the line is too long." I hear Jason say from ahead of us.
"Coming!" Gracie says before skipping ahead of me, and Jason. She stops at the elevator and waits for us. I quicken my pace so I'm walking with Jason, and not behind him.
"You left that part out of your story." I look at Jason and see him looking at me. He looks away and keeps walking. I'm confused for a moment before I realize what he's talking about. He saw too. "You don't have to say anything. Not if you don't want to." He says quietly so Gracie can't hear him. Then we get to the elevator.
The doors open and all three of us step on. The doors close and the elevator begins moving down to the next level. Surprisingly, it stops on the second floor and the doors open again. On the other side of the doors is Elton.
====Elton's P.O.V.====
I woke up to the bell in a room that wasn't mine. I'm not sure which bell it was, and I don't know who's room this is. I sit up. I'm laying on a table that has thin paper over it. Almost like a doctor's office. I look around the room. It's small, smaller than mine. The walls are made of concrete. I notice a small box attached to the wall across from me. It is small and has one button on it. Above the button is a small blinking green light. The only other light in the room is a small ceiling lamp suspended over my head. I get off the table and stand. For a moment, I feel nauseated and almost fall over. Then the feeling goes away. I walk around the table to the box on the wall. Curious I press the button.
"Hello Mr. Jace. How are you? Don't answer that. I can't actually hear you. This message is pre-recorded. I am supposed to tell you where you are. You are on the second floor. Right below your old room. This is a cell. Your cell. The cell next door to you, just so happens to be your sisters cell. You are allowed out of your cell, only if you are escorted by a guard. If you wish to leave the cell just knock on the door. You can't open it from the inside. Have an awful day."
Okay. So that's what that button does... I turn and look around the cell again. I didn't see the door when I first looked, but now, I notice that it is right next to the wall-box. I knock on it and after a few moments the door opens. On the other side is a guard. The guard is dressed strange. Usually, a guard will just have a white helmet and a chest plate. Along with black long sleeves and pants.
This guard is wearing that, and a black mask over their face. The guard reaches forward and grabs my arm.
"Alright, where do you wanna go." The guard asks. She sounds like she's bored.
"Well, the bell just rang. Was that for breakfast?" I ask.
"No, that's the lunch bell."
"Okay, can we go to the lunch room?"
"Sure, hold up a moment though." She turns to look at two other guards. They are the guards that were with my sister.
Right now, they are unlocking a door. It's my sister's door. I try to step back but the guard is holding my arm. One guard opens the door while the other steps back. As soon as the door is open, the guard falls over. My sister is sitting on top of him. She turns and looks at me and the other guard who stepped back grabs her from behind.
He lifts her up off the other guard and the first one stands back up. He takes out some handcuffs and puts them on her. The guards turn to look at the one holding my arm and nod. My guard then turns to me.
"Alright, now let's go." She says and we start down the hall. We stop in front of what looks like elevator doors.
"Okay, I'm supposed to stay with you but, you aren't really that much of a threat so, I'mma go with them instead. Once the bell rings for the end of lunch, you are gonna meet me right here. If not, then you don't get food for at least three days. Got it?" She says. I nod and she let's go of my arm. I turn to face the elevator and the guards, plus my sister, leave. I look down at my shoes and wait for the elevator.
Once the elevator doors open, I look up and see Jason, Jacob, and Gracie. Jacob looks surprised, Jason looks confused, and Gracie steps forward.
"Hey Elton! You're feeling fine right?" She says. I nod at her. "Good! C'mon, we are going down to get lunch. Come with us." She motions for me to get on the elevator. I hesitate for a moment before stepping on the elevator and standing next to Gracie. The doors close and it gets quiet. Gracie asks me a question, to make it less quiet I guess.
"Do you know why you were on the second floor?" She asks.
"No, I just woke up there. I don't remember how I got there..."
"Don't worry about it! I've woken up on the second floor a couple of times too..." She says. I know she's trying to reassure me, but, now I'm worried about her. The doors open and she skips out. Jason and Jacob quickly follow behind her. I step off slowly.
