"Good morning, My Lady,"
"Good morning, Sebastian," she mumbled in reply, recognizing her love's alluring voice with ease. She allowed herself to snuggle up to him, still half asleep. She nestled her head in the crook of his neck, his hair falling in her face. He chuckled, twisting his neck around so he could kiss her cheek. After resting in his embrace for a short while, Grell had a realization. Throughout her life, she had become accustomed to waking up in an empty bed. Although she was enraptured by Sebastian for a moment, she was shocked to find that she wasn't in bed alone. Her eyes flew open and she sprang away from his embrace, flying to the other edge of the bed. "Sebastian!" she shrieked, "What on earth are you doing here?!"
Sebastian cocked his head to the side, surprised by Grell's sudden reaction. He pulled his clothed legs up from underneath the covers and up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them as his lips curled into a soft smile. "Remember? We decided to make the night seem like forever," he chuckled, shaking his head as he ran a hand through his ruffled hair. "I would have expected you to remember."
Grell sighed and shook her head, her hair falling down into her face. She hung her head in shame, squinting her eyes shut. "Ah, now it's all coming back to me," she stated with a short laugh, "What a night, huh?" she asked, reaching over to the nightstand to find her glasses. Her hands ran over the wooden surface blindly before gliding over the slim frames of her red spectacles. She grasped them gently, sliding them onto her face with ease. She picked her head back up, the image of Sebastian now clear.
He smiled and leaned back, flopping down onto the several pillows that sat behind him. His crimson eyes stared up at the ceiling unfixedly, gazing around from area to area. "Quite the night indeed, I agree," He frowned, his eyebrows furrowing together. "Well," he sighed, "today's the day you have to leave. I suppose after the conversation with Ciel that we had last night, I guess this might be the last chance I'll ever get to spend time with you."
Grell groaned as her heart plummeted down. She shut her eyes and sighed, laying down next to Sebastian and resting her head on his chest. "You just had to remind me," she whimpered, shaking her head in disapproval, "you know, I never thought this week would end. But now that this day is here, it feels like it all flew by," a single tear escaped her closed eyes and rolled down her cheek, dripping onto Sebastian's shirt.
Sebastian's pale hand reached over, gingerly touching the spot where the teardrop had sunk through his shirt and onto his skin, running his finger over it with a bittersweet smile. "I know, I feel the same," his hand moved from his shirt and up to Grell's hair, softly stroking her hair, "let's make the most of the time we have left."
"I just want to lie here with you forever..."
"Sebastian. Sebastian," the call of his name became progressively louder with each shout, unknowingly breaking up the moment between Grell and Sebastian. "Sebastian. Sebastian!"
Sebastian sighed and shook his head as Grell recoiled away from him. "Speak of the devil," he chuckled, "sounds like Ciel has woken up." He slid out from underneath the covers and walked over to the vanity, where his tailcoat and waistcoat from the previous night rested. Finding that they were still in good condition for the time being, he put the vest and coat on over his undershirt once again. Sebastian proceeded over to the doorway, where his shoes rested off to the side. As he was pulling them on, he looked over his shoulder at Grell. She watched him expectantly, sitting with her legs still under the covers. He gave her a sorry smile, "He's expecting me soon, I should be on my way to tend to his needs now," he apologized.
"It's alright," Grell replied with an understanding nod, her eyes still focused on Sebastian. She knew it was his duty to serve Ciel, but she was upset that he had to leave her on her own. It was selfish, but she would have much rather had him stay with her for a little longer.
