The Last Time I Was With You

It was that night after the baseball game you & I watched. The joyful expression on your face never left even though it was finished. "So, what do we do now?" You said as you hugged me.

"Well, what do you want to do?" I told you as I held you closer to me.  "Well, I'm a bit hungry, are there any restaurants still open at this time?" You told me as we got in the car.

"Oh yeah, there's this one place I know..." "Great! Then let's go!"

On the way, I noticed you taking selfies on your phone, "Hey, mind if I borrow this?" "S-sure"

"There. I'll post this one later on.." "Mind if I see it?" I said as I held your phone. "H-hey!" "Oh, so that's what you used that emoji pillow for", I jokingly said. "Hey, I'll be posting that later on my Instagram.."

"Don't worry, I won't delete it...." I said as I gave your phone back. "Oh, we're here!" You said as you sat up straight and looked out the car window. As we got down from the car and entered the restaurant, you immediately ran to the table near the wall which had their logo. "Order anything you want to eat, it's fine with me!" You said as I laughed at how cute you were.

As I got to our table, "Wait, can you take a picture of me here?" "Sure!"

"Hey what's with the sad expression?" "It's for the aesthetic feel.." "Oh, okay..."

As we ate, I couldn't take my eyes off of you, "Taehyung-ah, can you excuse me for a bit? I just need to use the restroom" "Oh, sure, go ahead.."

As you were in the restroom, I noticed you left your phone on the table and your messages popped up like crazy. "Huh? What's this? 4 unread messages" 

"Wheein, where are you? We're leaving for the airport in 3 hours", said the first text.

"Wheein, your things are in the car now, we'll be waiting for you, we're leaving Daegu today." said the second.

"Jung Wheein, are you even reading my texts?! Where are you?! You're with your boyfriend are you? Have you not informed him yet?" said the third

"JUNG WHEEIN, IF YOU'RE NOT HERE AT OUR FRONT YARD IN THE NEXT HOUR WE'RE COMING TO GET YOU, WE KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING WITH YOUR BOYFRIEND." said the last text.

"Taehyung? What are you doing with my phone?" You said as you came back. "Wheein, your parents texted you 2 or 3 hours ago." I saw the startled expression on your face, I was only waiting for you to tell me what your parents kept texting you about.

"W-why? What did they say?" You said as I gave you your phone. "Oh, shoot!" You said out loud as you facepalmed.

"Taehyung-ah, we need to leave now!" "C'mon, get your things and let's go back to your house before your parents get even more furious." I said as I helped you with your things and left.

"Wheein-ah....calm down" I said as I held your shivering hand. I could tell the expression on your face getting more and more frightened, now that your parents became furious. Just then, tears started streaming down your face.

As the car came to a stop, I turned around to face you, "Wheein-ah....don't cry, everything's gonna be alright. We're just a few blocks away from your house." "I-I'm sorry.....that I didn't tell you earlier...." "Wheein, take a deep breath for second...."

"Taehyung.....I'm leaving Daegu for good....I'm going to be studying at a different school" "W-what? Wheein-ah..." "Taehyung, I didn't tell you because I know it would upset you...." "Wheein, wait...." I said as the traffic light changed and we started moving again. 

"Wheein, listen to me for a moment......" I said as I pulled over 2 houses away from your parent's house.

"Taehyung....I'm sorry...I'm so so sorry.." You said as I hugged you and stroked the back of your head to calm you down. "Look, Wheein-ah...spending time with you was the best thing that ever happened in my life...and I don't regret it at all.." "Taehyung, I don't wanna leave....what about you?" 

"Wheein, listen to me....even though we're gonna be separated, I know you want what's the best for me, especially for you...your parents want the best for you..." "Taehyung, are you...breaking up with me?" "No...no I'm not...Wheein....this will never be the last time we see each other..." 

"Taehyung...." You said with our head looking down. Just then, your phone started ringing, "Go on, answer it, I'll hold your hand so you won't be scared." 

"H-hello? Mom? Dad?" "JUNG WHEEIN?! WHERE ARE YOU?! WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO GET BACK FOR THE PAST HOUR, WE'RE COMING TO GET YOU!" "Dad, wait, let me talk for a moment, please."

"Taehyung..I'm scared" "Don't be, I'm still here...." I said as I kissed your lips and your forehead, still holding your hand.

Right there and then , I saw the reflection of your dad in the mirror, walking furiously towards the car along with your mom, "JUNG WHEEIN GET DOWN FROM THERE RIGHT NOW!" Your dad said as he banged on the door.

"Taehyung, I'm so scared!" "Hold on, we're getting down together okay? Just don't let go of my hand, if you're scared." 

As we got down from the car, I could feel the chills run up my spine and my limbs go stiff, it was the most nerve-wrecking time of my life, but still I tried to stay strong, for you. "M-mom, D-dad....I-I can explain...." "Mr. & Mrs. Jung, I'm very sorry...."

"Well you should be!" Your dad said as he hit me right in the stomach, right there and then, my knees fell weak, "Dad! What are you doing?!" You said as you wrapped your arms around me to protect me. "Jung Wheein, get in the car right now!" Your dad said as he tried to break your grip to me. "No! Dad, what has Taehyung ever done to you?!"

"Wheein, don't mess with your dad right now...." Your mom said as she tried to make you stand up. "Mom, Taehyung has protected me, defended me, comforted me in every problem our family faced! He hasn't done anything to offend you in anyway!"

"Wheein, get in the car now!" Your dad said furiously. "Wheein, go on....you'll be late..." "No... Taehyung I won't leave you, you don't deserve this, it was my fault that this is happening to you now..." "Wheein....remember what I told you...in the car.."

"Taehyung-ah...."

Those were the last words I heard from you before I completely blanked out, the next few moments were all a blur... I could still feel the pain though I try to forget about it.

It's been years since that happened....

Wheein-ah~ Just wait a bit longer...I will find you and we'll be together again...just like old times...
