"Well, looks like it's just you guys and I for a little while." I greeted the two kids who had gotten out of their beds and were now staring at me.

Job stepped forward first.

"You came back?" He observed.

I sighed and crouched down to his level.

"Yeah...I did..." I nodded slowly.

Sarah ran at me now and threw her arms around me. I was shocked by the action at first, but squeezed her back until she let go.

"Why didn't you leave?" She wondered.

I could feel my eyes glaze over at her question as I looked at their innocent faces. I couldn't tell them why, could I? That I got someone killed and liked it and that's when I realized that I belonged here? They'd be just as afraid of me as they were of the others! I didn't want that....

"Because....I just needed to stay, for my baby, that's all." I lied.

They seemed to be ok with that answer, smiling and nodding their heads. Good.

"So, what do you guys normally do around here?" I asked, changing the subject.

Sarah and Job smiled now.

"We play lots!" Job chirped happily.

Now I smiled.

"What do you play? I thought Malachai said games were forbidden?" I inquired.

The two kids shared a devious grin.

"We do it when he's not around." Sarah told.

"Hasn't he ever caught you?" I questioned.

"Once. He took us to Issac as soon as he found us, but Issac said He Who Walks Behind the Rows forgave us because we were bystanders." Job explained.

"Huh interesting. And even though you're not followers, you get to live here?" I picked.

"Uh huh. If it wasn't for Sarah's gift of sight, we'd probably be given to him in a heartbeat." Job admitted.

"Well it's a good thing she has that gift." I smiled, ruffling the young girl's long blonde hair.

"Malachai doesn't like it though, that's why he doesn't want her to draw." Job sighed.

"Well you know what, it sounds like Malachai doesn't like a lot of things." I smirked.

The two kids nodded vigorously.

"He's really grumpy all the time." Sarah blurted. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Yes he sure is." I agreed.

"I think he's just mad that no one ever asked him to play with them." Job bursted.

"Well that's a fair assumption. I'd be pretty mad too if no one ever wanted to play with me." I replied.

"Do you think we should ask him to then?" Sarah pondered.

"Maybe not just yet. I think he's dealing with too much at the moment." I stated.

"Okay....what about you? Do you want to play?" Sarah cooed.

I smiled wide now.

"Sure. What do you want to play?" I accepted.

Sarah went over to the closet now and pulled out the board game Monopoly. I helped her and Job set it up and we played for hours. I was honestly shocked with how well these two little kids handled money, even if it was fake. They must've been so good in school....
