William Revenous Chapter Seven - Incendio!

Through the night William was haunted by several strange dreams. In one he was walking through a burning world. Then suddenly everything around him would change. Next thing he knew he was surrounded in a world of ash. The second one felt a lot more depressing, William thought. The scenery changed from ashes into an endless void. The previous day started to play. William and Cedric were standing in front of each other. William heard himself shout the words of a spell and.. 

William opened his eyes. It was already light out. Dream.. It was just a dream. A strange one, he thought. He got up and dressed himself. Slowly he became more aware of his surroundings. Everyone else had left the dormitory already. The magical clock above the door was telling him it was just past eleven. That means Professor Flitwick in an hour. Spells. 

He leaves the dormitory and descends from the black stairwell that led towards the common room. He spotted Cedric who was sitting on the red couch in the middle. Cedric was examining his want, but noticed William immediately. A big grin appeared on his face. 

"Good morning Will, have we 'cooled down' a little?
"Mornin' Cedric, that is quite a 'burning' statement. You know that I have no 'defenses' for that", William replies. He and Cedric both snickered. The students around them looked puzzled. 
"Alright, that's enough word plays. Let's have breakfast", Cedric says. 
They follow the moving stairs down towards the great hall, which was immediately to the left once at the bottom. They take a seat on the Huffelpuff table, which was right in between Griffindor and Ravenclaw. 

"Good morning Dorian. We haven't seen you in ages. How have you been?", William asked the scrawny boy right next to them. He looked pale but quite happy. 
"We killed a whole nest of them! It was awesome!", Dorian replied. Cedric looked puzzled. William did not. He knew Dorian was summoned back home because his parents were facing a vampire infestation. 

"I managed to kill five of them. They were vicious!", Dorian continued. 

"He has been hunting vampires at home, Cedric. They have a bunch of them in the basement. Presumably they decided to pester the Dorian family because they are famous for their yearly vampire hunts in Romania.", William said. 

"I see. That is amazing Dorian. How did they get in there in the first place? Didn't you guys see any of them slip in?" 

"Not at all. Apparently they were building an underground fort, and accidentally stumbled upon our basement. We were lucky they made that mistake. They could have turned the whole village before anyone would notice if we didn't", Dorian said. 

"So what did you do?", William asked. 
"We called the whole family together of course. We had a huge family reunion where we attacked the fort. And now we have a super huge basement for future parties. and look at this!", Dorian pulled a chord from his neck and a whole chain of teeth appeared, "These are pretty rare to get from a vampire at all. Usually they degrade to dust. But I have a few uncles who are very experienced vampire slayers. They gave me these teeth as a trophy for my bravery! Isn't it awesome?"
"Yes it is!", Cedric said. "By comparison nothing really happened here. To quickly fill you in.. Boring schoolwork yada yada I nearly died yada oh and Will met a girl he may like but he is too scared to approach her."

"Ohh that is some spicy news Cedric. Who is the girl Will? Is she un Hufflepuff as well?", Dorian asked. 

"Nope, Slytherin", Cedric replied quickly with a wink towards William, who could already predict Dorian's reaction. 
"WHAT? Slytherin?", Dorian shouted through the great hall. Fortunately it was so noisy not a single head turned. "Will, have you gone completely mad?"
"Why would you even think that? Why is it such a big deal?", William asked.
