Yan Da heaved. She just puked her dinner out. Wiping her mouth, she then called a servant to clean it and to ready her bath. She just came back from the Fire-Ice castle.
Not long, her bath was ready. Slowly, she got in the tub. She caressed her stomach. Weird. Why is it pulsing? Did I catch something in there?
Frowning, she put her hands on her side. Letting her servants do their job. By and by she finished bathing and is already on her bed. She feels really tired for some reason.
I should go and see Huang Tuo tomorrow, she thought before finally going to sleep.
_Dream_
Yan Da and elf Shi are in a town. Inside an inn. They are both currently watching the people from the window.
"Mortals are really something aren't they?" Elf Shi said. His eyes fixed on the busy people below them.
"Yeah." Yan Da replied, smiling. Unlike Shi, her gaze is focused on the children who are playing with each other. "Especially, their young ones."
"Hmm, you like children?" Elf Shi asked, looking at the fire princess beside him.
"I would love to have one or two someday." Yan Da said. Her eyes softening at the thought. Abruptly though, her gaze became sad.
"What's wrong?" Shi asked, noticing the change in her eyes.
"But it most likely won't happen." She answered, now looking at the sky.
Elf Shi frowned. "Why not? Surely, you have someone right?"
Yan Da smiled sadly. "He doesn't return my feelings and our tribes are at war. There's a big possibility that I won't survive."
"Y-you ... will die?" Elf Shi said in horror.
"Possible," the fire princess answered nonchalantly. She already had come terms to it. It's war after all and knowing her father... Looking down, she saw the elf's horrified expression. "What's wrong? If that happens, then you can eat all my soul."
The elf's eyes widen more. "No!" he said vehemently which he surprised Yan Da.
"Huh!?"
"No! I don't want you to die! Yes, your soul does taste good but..." he said, clutching his chest. "For some reason, it hurts in here when I think of you dying. You're my only true friend Yan Da. Please, never leave me."
Yan Da smiled. Gently, brushing the tears in the elf's eyes. "I'll try my best. Don't cry."
Shi pouted. "Promise me." He said, looking directly into her eyes. "Promise me, that you'll take care of yourself. That you'll think of yourself first before me."
Yan Da met his gaze. Hesitant.
"Please," Shi then said, breaking her resolve. Yan Da sighed, putting her little finger up.
"I promise."
Shi smiled, holding the finger. "Safe and locked."
A joyous laughed then came from the outside, making the duo look. Yan Da chuckled, seeing the kids down below. They were happily playing tag.
Elf Shi's gaze is fixed again on her. "Do you really want to have a child?"
The fire princess nodded.
