Tian Jin carefully pulled Yan Da closer towards him. She fell asleep a while ago. His heart throb in fondness when he felt her moved closer, leaning in towards his chest. He smiled. Yan Da has always loved hearing his heart beat.

In Blaze City, when she thought that he was asleep, she would sneak into his room. She would lie down beside him, hesitating for a minute before putting her head on his chest. She would stay like that for an hour or two. Then she'll leave.

"Silly woman," he uttered, kissing her on the temple. He closed his eyes, leaning on the cherry blossom tree. A growl then escaped his lips when he remembered Phoenix's actions. Subconsciously, his arms tightened around the fire princess.

He's still pissed about what happened to Yan Da. He wants to go back and torture the wild bird more before killing him. The only one that's stopping him from doing that is the woman in his arms. He doesn't want to leave her alone. He already made a mistake of doing so and look at what happened.

No, he couldn't let that happen again. As long as she's by his side, she'll be safer.

They stayed there for some time. But when Tian Jin felt Yan Da shiver from the cold, he decided to go back to the palace. Gently, lifting her up he trudged forward.

Not long, he reached her room. He then laid her down on the bed. "Good night," he said, covering her with the blanket. "...my Yan Da."

He was about to go when a white energy tugged his hand. Tian Jin chuckled when he felt the child sulked. Kneeling down, he kissed Yan Da's belly. "I didn't forget about you little one. I was just testing you. Let your mom sleep, okay? Daddy will bring you some cherry blossoms tomorrow."

The child's energy wrapped around him once more, hugging him. He smiled, understanding the child. "I love you too."

Ka Suo is conflicted. He's already sure that Tian Jin is indeed Shi. His words and actions towards Yan Da gave him away. The king's forehead creased. He's happy but at the same time hurt. He wanted to go and hug his brother. However, it seems like Shi didn't want to be associated with him.

He sighed. At least, he knew that his younger brother is safe and alive.

Meanwhile in the Blaze City...

"You know I only propose an alliance because I thought that you'd be worth something." Flame said, circling Phoenix who was gasping on the floor. "But no you proved yourself to be a nuisance instead of an asset. Should I torture you first or shall I gulp you in one attack."

Crouching down, he raised the wild bird's head. Phoenix couldn't do anything but to stare back. The fire king had already eaten his men.

Flame smirked, loving the helplessness in the other's eyes.

"No, I think I'll save you for later."

2 a.m.

Yan Da's body trembled. "Father no..." She mumbled, hands gripped the sheets beneath her. Her eyes then snapped open. Fear and despair could be seen in them. Her mind went back to the time when she was still in the Blaze City. She didn't pay attention to it before but was it her imagination or her father's aura had become more powerful than before. The thing that unsettled her though was the shift in his father's eyes. The look of insanity in them.

The fire princess bit her lip, hoping that she was wrong because if she is right... there is no going back for her father.

Father, you're not doing what I thought that you're doing right? She said, clasping her hands together. Closing her eyes, she tried to concentrate on that thought. However, her mind is persistent about what she saw. The scattered limbs. The missing men from her tribe and others. And her dream...

Yan Da opened her eyes. Standing up, she left her room.

Ka Suo was on the palace's balcony when he felt the distress aura of the fire princess. It was so strong that he felt it even before she made her appearance before him.

"Yan Da, what's wrong?" He quickly asked when he saw the tears on her eyes.

"Ka Suo, I think my father is killing and eating immortals to become more powerful." She said without missing a beat.
