"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome on stage the one and only, Lucas Haven!" the interviewer yelled excitedly, eager for the man to show up.
The brown eyed man walked confidently on the lightened stage and took his seat on the white couch, that was put in there to welcome the celebrities. He didn't forget to greet his fans before he sat down. "Good evening, Mr. Haven. Thank you for accepting our invitation." Rachel, the interviewer said, smiling at Lucas.
Lucas resisted the urge to roll his eyes, but he smiled back nevertheless. It was all for the show. "It's a pleasure to be here." he said politely, reciting the words he had been instructed to.
"So, your latest song, A New Day Has Began, has immediately reached first place in Billboard. What has caused this success?" Rachel asked.
Lucas smirked, making Rachel uncomfortable. He knew he had an effect on the opposite gender and he always used it. Too bad he wasn't interested in them. "Well, I think my fans are loyal to me and they know what a good song is." he answered, exactly like it was written in the script.
"Since your songs have proved to turn into hits, do we expect an album from you?" Rachel continued the script.
Lucas smiled a fake smile. He knew, or to be exact, Rachel knew his answer and only spoke coldly, like he was already bored. He hated these interviews, but what else could he do? His fans loved him and he was in debt to them. If it weren't for his fans, he would be as desperate as he was two years ago. He didn't want to go back in the dark. He wanted to live for the both of them.
"Let's go to your love life. Any girlfriend?" Rachel raised an eyebrow suggestively while she asked that question.
Lucas frowned. This was not on the script. He glanced at his manager, Annie, who shook her head disappointed. He didn't have to answer the question. Annie went to the show's producer and yelled at them. She was beyond furious. They didn't agree talking about love life. That was a sore subject for Lucas and Annie knew it. She glared at the bald man, who looked like he was going to piss his pants.
Lucas took a deep breath and encouraged himself to answer. "No." he simply said.
Rachel didn't like the answer, but she let it go.
The interview ended short after. Lucas couldn't be more relieved. He made a mental note to thank Annie for saving his butt. The last two years have been difficult for him and Annie has been always there to support him. "Remind me to sue those assholes." Annie said to him, furious.
"Leave them. They're not worth our time." Lucas said calmly. He didn't care if Annie sued them or not, he didn't want to see them again.
"But they deserve a punishment and to learn to never mess with us." the purple head insisted.
"Annie, please. I'm tired." Lucas complained.
"As you wish, superstar." Annie grinned. She cared a lot about the blondie next to her and she always wanted to see him happy. He had suffered enough.
A smile appears at Lucas' lips when Annie said that. He hated when she called him superstar, but that made him happy nevertheless.
They entered in the black limo that would sent them home. The ride was longer than Lucas expected it to be. Or maybe it was because he couldn't wait to be on his own. He loved to be on Annie's presence, but sometimes the best company was himself. As soon as Lucas closed the door of his apartment, he slid through it and sat on the ground. He knew he promised Annie to never cry again, but this time he couldn't help himself. The tears exploded before he could stop them. Lucas stood there crying for a few hours, until he had no tears to shed.
