Chapter 16

"Ai, I love you."

Shun whispered tenderly at her sleeping figure before he turned back time.

"How sweet. No matter how much time you leap the consequences would still be the same".

A male voice echoed. Shun shouted angrily at him "Just you wait! I will fix everything!"

Shun's POV

I sighed for the tenth time today. Ai had been acting weirdly that day. Her eyes flashed the colour yellow Kumagami said as I rushed towards her.

"Where did she go?" I muttered quietly to myself

"Mei-san! Where are you?"

Eh, a thud came rushing on my shoulder "Huh?"

I thought I was clear on the rule no running in front of the lab? Huh...

"Airi! Where are you going?!" that sounded like Kirito's voice, he seemed distressed. I wonder why was he calling Ai like that. Did something happened?

Kirito's footstep came running towards me panting
"Shun! It's Airi. She- she change."

"What do you mean?" I'm confused, what does he mean by saying that she'd change. After a moment, my jaw dropped; an epiphany hit me. What?! Is that even possible?! "Let's go find her."

Kirito nodded as a sign of affirmation as he walked beside me being unsually quiet
"Maybe you knew something that I don't."

That caught me off guard "I have my own reason." I said casually. This guy...really like her. I wonder how they meet, now I think about it; it made me feel a little bit jealous..okay, I'll admit it, I feel jealous. I breath out a deep sigh.

After a while walking endlessly trying to find Ai. I noticed that someone was staring at us. "Hey, Shuichi and Miss Medoki. What is it do you need." I gave them a half-hearted smile

"Tch, if you're looking for that weird girl. She just left."

"Shuichi! Watch your mouth! Can't you see we're all worried about Mei-san." Medoki gave a punch on Shuichi's shoulder.

"Ow! Watch it, woman."

"Yeah, listen to her Shu-i-chi." Kirito said earning a glare from Shuichi himself. "Why you little-"

"There's no time to waste, let us go find her. Pooh, I know you're behind me. Come with me." I said smiling at him as he just sigh. "I don't understand what you see in her. You deserve better."

"Hey! Watch your damn mouth. You knew nothing about her!" Kirito gritted his teeth and walked ahead of us. "Tch, annoying brat."

I shook my head. It's true that pooh doesn't know what kind of person Ai actually was. Even with her unsettling cold demeanor, I felt something that I recognized in her; her kind nature.

I noticed that when...

"Argh! What should I do?! She asked me to come with her to ZHIEND's concert. I don't know what to wear! I don't even know on why I was so worked up!" he said his thoughts out loud making me chuckled, must be Nao whom invited him.

The door creak open, that must be Ai. Before I could called her to sit with me. She spoke in a quiet voice to Yuu"Wear this."

She handed Yuu what seems to be a plastic bag. Maybe there's clothes in it. Yuu was surprised "Thank you for the gift. But, I can't accept this,Mei-senpai."

"Wear that. Nao likes the colour blue." she left as soon she said that. I smiled to myself.

"Geez, earth to Shun." Kumagami sigh earning a chuckle from me "Sorry, I spaced out."

"Hey guys hurry up!" Kirito said out loud as we arrived at the entrance.The workers came out to open the door for us.

The metallic door rang it's way up to my ears; it opened, the autumn breeze came brushing to skin. Feeling the coolness of the air around me I composed myself before stepping out.

It's a bit cold outside, good thing I worr a coat to warmed me up; well today's colour coordination for my clothes are a mix of a navy blue designer coat with a black T-shirt underneath with matching grey pants, all thanks to pooh's great fashion sense. That was what they had informed me. Sigh, wish I could see again, but that's impossible.

We walked out towards the car where our driver was waiting for us after thanking the workers for opening the door.

"Do you have any idea on where Ai-- I mean Mei-san might be heading to?" I gave Kirito a questioning look with a hint worry written all over my face. It took a minute before he replied while seeming defeated by his inner monologue " I have no idea myself. She's not the type who blurted her problems to anyone...even me."

"How troublesome," pooh mumbled under his breath, probably annoyed by the fact he was dragged along to find Ai.

"Cheer up, pooh. If we find her. We'll go to Daichiku Ramen to eat." I playfully nudged his elbow, bribing him with food was the most effective way on making him do something he doesn't like. "Fine"

We got into the car and ot drove it's way to the main road "Where would you like to go Mr Otosaka?" the driver politely asked. Kirito mumbled at me "North-Tokyo's train station"

"Let's go to North-Tokyo's train station. I got a feeling she would be there." I said silently praying that she was safe wherever she might be right now.

My phone rang, I picked it up "She's going to die in 5 minutes. Better hurry up or else...Kaboom. Hahaha.."

"You know. I love seeing those beautiful pink locks. Might as well add to my collection. Hm?"

The mysterious caller hung up as my blood ran cold. "Damn it!"

"..." Kirito just silently looking at me with a knowing look. I got cover as he teleport us right in front of the train station.

"What the hell?! You could just teleport us here in the first place!!" pooh yelled at him "Wow, calm down. My teleportation only work at a radius of 3 km from the place we are headed. Excuse you."

"Aaarrghh!" all the people were screaming: the station was engulfed in a large fire
