Watching as the two toms finally fell asleep I began to feel the need to speak to Stoneteller, her kind words being something that I felt I needed.
Soon I felt my paws leading me to her cave.
"Stoneteller?" I called in. There was no answer, figureing that she had fallen asleep I turned to return to my nest in the prey-hunters cave. Before I could begin to walk away my ears pricked as quiet murmurs began to come from the cave of pointed stones.
Turning back to face the caves mouth I saw a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness.
"Riversong." the holder of the glowing eyes murmured "you have been summoned."
I tried to make out the cat with glowing eyes, but after a few moments I entered the cave without question, following the cats scent as it led me further into the cave.
Moonlight reflected gently off the pools of water around my paws as small ripples cause the reflected light to dance like stars on the cave ceiling. I could see the dark outline of the cat leading me through the tunnels. It's pawsteps making no ripples as the light began to grow stronger ahead.
Finally the starry cat stopped and sat down underneath a pool of light that filtered down from the ceiling. His bright brown eyes reflecked the stars and his pelt; though faded, we a pale orange.
I stopped as well, facing the tom as more starry cats began to pad out of the darkness to sit as his sides, slowly beginning to surround me in a circle.
"Riversong." the voices said as one "you have brought our Tribes savior to us."
"What?" I gasped as I realized my clan was not coming to bring me home.
"But you cannot return just yet. For the River must sing it's Last song before this prophecy is complete and we have been saved."
"I'm not a tribe cat!" I hissed at them "My ancestors are in Starclan, not among your ranks!"
Suddenly a slim figure padded out of the tribes ranks "I was once a clan cat, but I have been forgotten by them. Just as you have."
"I am not yet forgotten!" I snapped "I still have kin in the clans that has not yet forgotten me!"
"How can you be sure? Have Starclan visited you? Have your clanmates come to bring you home?"
I heart pounded as I realized they were right.
In a softer voice the cat who had once been of the clans said "You can return once the prophecy is compleat if you wish, but please do not condemn our tribe to this horrid demise."
I nodded accepting this defeat, the tribe needed me more than my clan at this moment. It mostly pained me that I would never meet my mother as Amberstar had promised and might not ever see my sister again.
Slowly the cats surrounding me faded away, leaving me in a large cavern with wet paws and their words ringing in my ears.
"Find what you wanted?" the voice of Stoneteller asked as she padded into the cave behind me.
"No." I sighed as I turned to face her. "But it would appear that I have to stay longer than we both had hoped."
"I see..." she murmured "and anything else?"
I nodded "The savior has come."
"One of the twoleg place cats?"
"Yes."
