Ch 11

When we arrived at north's home it was much different than when Fenris and I visited before. The yetis were sluggish and there was a heaviness in the air. How could I have been so easily corrupted. I was granted a guardianship that covered the balance between what was good and what was evil. I had to do something. I walked up to the yetis while jack and Fenris watched me. I placed my hand on them gently, smoothing ruffled fur. I felt where the nightmares had left their sand and brushed it out of their fur. This sand was different than what the others had dealt with years ago with jack. This was something pitch had created, and yet I was immune to it while my necklace drew off any lingering darkness. Once the sand was brushed off the yetis perked right up and went back to work.
"Lily how did you?" Jack asked. "It was that black sand! It's been turning up everywhere and on everything." Fenris gasped. "Yes pitch created it. So far I think only I and nightheart are immune.... Wait nightheart! That's it! That's how we can fix this!" I exclaimed "good because much more of this and I'm going on the barbi!" I heard bunny say behind me. "Sandy you can't do anything with this sand without it turning you can you?" I asked. Sandy signed quickly that I was correct. "Fenris do you think you could take on a halfling form? It would help." I asked he thought a moment before shifting to a proud stallion that was a mix of black and yellow sand but more yellow. "Perfect. Halflings are immune to the sand so nightheart Fenris and I can remove it. Fenris and nightheart can absorb the sand and neutralize it so it's safe for sandy to use. But you guys realize that this will take a while to do right?" I asked. "We understand lily. Just a request help my little fairies please?" Tooth asked. "Of course. Come on Fenris let's get night heart and get started!" I said rubbing my hands together.

Fenris went off to find nightheart so we could get started. I was waiting outside brushing off jacks snow sprites and a few elves. "Lily, im Sorry." I heard jack say suddenly from behind me. "For what?" I said as flurry fluttered off. "That night when you were changed. I was too far away and couldn't make it to you in time. I failed you." He said sadly. "Jack I understand that you were busy. I have always believed in you." I said softly looking up at his bright blue eyes and brushing a bit of black dust off his head. "I don't understand how you can forgive me that easily." He said as I made up my mind. I leaned up and placed my lips softly onto his. I felt a spark leap between our lips before I drew back. "Oh." Jack said making me laugh. "Will you be mine?" He asked suddenly after a few moments. "Took you long enough!" Fenris exclaimed leading nightheart out. "Fenris!" We exclaimed. "What! It's true now answer him so we can go!" Fenris huffed. Jack looked at me expectantly. "Of course!" I said. "Great! Now then let's get a move on!" Fenris said shifting impatiently. "I'll be back jack." I said kissing him again befor climbing onto Fenris and he took off. I could hear jack behind me laughing and whooping happily.
