*few days later*
I had gotten used to the darkness. The nightmares no longer bothered me and nightheart was my constant companion. And to my horror I found myself forgetting the stars. I could barely feel goodness beyond all the nightmares. And pitch came to talk every night. Each night a new dream, bullies at school taunted me calling me worthless, freak. Teasing me because I wouldn't swear. One night it was my father leaving. Another my death. Sometimes I'd catch a brief glimmer of white. Or a blast of cold but they had little meaning in the unending dark. "Wonderful! You have broken it seems. You really are weak only three days. I expected more, but no matter my plans will go in motion. Tomorrow you will come out with me and the nightmares. Lets just see what the so called guardian of the mystics can do." Pitch said with a laugh. "Yes sir." I said calmly. Somehow tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.

*next day well night*
I went out with pitch. The night was black besides the pale moon which to my surprise was also dimming. "Sir what's the matter with the moon?" I asked from astride shadow as nightheart was still too little to ride. "His little protectors are failing. And so is he." Pitch said showin me around. I nodded accepting it. We rode into a grave yard. The stones creepier than pitches cave cast shadows. Nightheart stuck close to me and shadow as we passed a statue of a huge dragon. I caught a glimmer of white off to the side and turned my head but it was too fast it was gone. I shook my head and then I felt something familiar. And an icy wind blew up. "Lily!" A voice shouted on the wind. I pulled shadow to a stop and faced into the wind squinting. "Lily hurry up now!" Pitch snapped harshly. "Coming sir!" I shouted looking around once more before taking off. Nightheart snorted and pawed the ground. "Nightheart come on nothing is there." I said tuning and watching nightheart race over. I rolled my eyes at her before noticing pitch has stopped. "What's te matter sir?" I asked softly. "The guardians are here. What fun watch an learn." Pitch said slipping off of deamonsong and stepping into a clearing. "I know your here." Pitch shouted. I watched as guardians slid out of the shadows. A fairy, north, the sand man, and a giant bunny stood before pitch. "What did you do with the guardian of mystics?" The bunny asked. "Nothing besides introduced her to fear." Pitch said. They started fighting then and the nightmares split into two half surrounded me and te rest helped pitch. I urged shadow to go closer but a snapping twig startled us both. "Who's there!" I exclaimed pulling my bow out. "Whoa whoa! Hold on its me jack. Jack Frost. And fenris is the noisy one." A boy with white hair said stepping out followed by a black haired boy. "I'm not noisy. Jeez blame everything on me!" The boy fenris said. "What do you want?" I asked feeling nightheart wander closer to me but I could feel she wanted to go to the boys. "We want you to come back! The world is out of balance! Darkness is overcoming everything. Light is fading. Even the stars are lost!" Fenris said stepping forward. I felt something stir inside me and nightheart glowed a bit more gold. "Child listen to your heart. You are like the halfling. One side cannot out balance the other." A voice from above said. A heavy ness lifted a bit from ontop of me. But before I could say anything shadow took off suddenly and I looke back seeing fenris in his white lion form and chancing after us. "Take her home ill throw them off." Pitch commanded shadow nickered and raced off with a small group of nightmares
