James' POV
I was lying awake in my bed with my eyes closed. It felt like a normal morning because I didn't remember much about last night. I opened my eyes and tilted my head to the left.

Jaiden.

I saw her lying there, still and peaceful. Suddenly, all the memories and drinks flooded back into my head. My eyes widened as I started to relive what happened. I held it in, trying not to disturb Jaiden . I quickly rushed to the bathroom, making sure to still be quiet and not cause too much of a chaos  I brushed my teeth and rinsed up before I went out again. I walked out of the bathroom to see Jaiden, already leaving. I was sad to see her go. We made eye contact and blushed. I waved a soft goodbye that she probably didn't see.

"What am I going to do now? I knew it was a mistake. Why did I do it?" My mind ran back and forth trying to look for a solution.

I decided to head over to Tony's. Maybe he would help me. But yet again, he didn't. He just was flabbergasted. Instead of helping me, he fanboyed and started saying:
"OMG I KNEW IT! I SHIP IT!"
"When's your next meet up? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)"

I sighed and excused myself to leave .

"Where should I go?"
I couldn't go home because Tim is there and the last thing I need is an "I SHIP IT" moment. So distracted by my thoughts that car almost hit me. I looked in the window.
It was Jaiden. Again.
Luckily, we didn't speak. Instead, we came to a stop.
"Red light, dammit." I mumbled, quiet enough so Jaiden couldn't here me. Why was it a smart idea to leave my window down?
Finally, Jaiden broke the barrier, waved
and said,

"...Hey.."

"Hi.." I replied, trying so hard not to blush.

"Where ya heading?" She said, with a sweet tone in her voice.

"..Um..honestly, I don't know." I chuckled.

"Same. Want to take Exit 42 and eat McDonald's?"

"Sure. Meet ya there I guess?" I tried speeding up the conversation once the light turned green.

"Ya doofus." She smirked. I didn't have time to respond because she drove past me in front.

Oh Jaiden, competitive as always. I reached McDonald's and parked. I opened my door and scanned the parking lot. No sign of her. I went inside to order and get my sandwich. I sat down in a booth near the bathroom and checked Twitter.

@theodd1sout OMG THE KISS!!!!!!

@theodd1sout YASS GUYS U R COUPLED?!1!

I shut my phone and sighed. If only they knew.
Suddenly, I remembered Jaiden walked in, wearing her wine colored sweater, dark jeans, a fluffy hat with a Starbucks tea in her hand.
Jaiden took my breath away, even though her hair was a mess and her nose was runny, she was still so lovely.
I was in love.

Jaiden's POV

I woke up and opened my eyes to see me in James' room, except he wasn't there. I thought at first I slept over at James', like any other night. I tried to get up  to make myself breakfast. I looked at the floor and saw clothes.

My clothes.

In that moment, everything hit me hard. The party, the kiss, and of course, the...well....moment. I rushed to get ready before James saw me. By the time he came out, I was slipping on my heels. We made eye contact for what seemed like centuries at a time out of pure embarrassment and shame. As if we were both thinking:

"Did we .......... do it?"

I looked away and left, leaving away my dignity and bringing so much more regret. Well, that' s what at least I thought happened.

I didn't know where to head. I couldn't go home because I didn't have a car and It was a pretty far drive, so I called an Uber to pick me up. I opened my door, trying to be careful to not make any noise that was even close to loud. My head was throbbing and I needed some Advil quick. I rushed to the kitchen as quietly as I could. I grabbed the white bottle, took a pill, and swallowed it dry, hoping that It would work faster. I sighed and flopped on my couch, rubbing my forehead and closing my eyes. Just as I started to fall into my thoughts, Jax appeared, looking concerned yet excited.

"What are you doing here! You can't just break in anytime you want to see me!!" I said, trying not sound like .

"Um..well...when I came to pick you up, Tim said that you and James disappeared somewhere..um where did you go?" It was obvious at the time that Jax had jumped to the assumption of what we did and was worrying about me.

"We were there, just at the terrace. Why?" I tried playing it off, but I clearly failed, with Jaxx noticing. He gave me the i-know-you're-lying-so-confess-already look.

"Fine. But don't tell mom or dad. Please Jaxx, I covered for you last time." I gave him a certain glare that meant i'm-not-in-the-mood-so-stop-asking-me.

He left and I was alone, but not really lonely. I mean, at the moment I wanted to be lonely as an excuse to run back to James but, I didn't. I started to work for what semed like minutes but were actually hours. I decided I would go get coffee just in case my hangover didn't disappear fully. I fed Ari and left.

I got my coffee from Starbucks and headed on the intersection. On that particular day, traffic was insane and I had an urge to get home. This car in front of me wasn't moving, so I sped past him, nearly hitting his car. I immediately felt apologetic so I rolled down my window, only to realize it was James. James looked peaceful, staring straight ahead. He turned his head towards me and just stared. I wanted to speed up traffic so badly, but it was a red light so all we could hear were sounds of honking and the wind blowing.

"..Hey.." I said, my voice trembling as I spoke.
"Hi.." James said with a strained voice
"Where ya heading?"I tried lighting the mood, empathizing my voice over the cars honking repetitively.
"..Um..honestly, I don't know." James chuckled.
"Same. Want to take Exit 42 and eat at McDonald's?"
"Sure. Meet ya there I guess?" I remember the light turned green and I started to press down on the gas petal.
"Ya doofus." I said, taking off and leaving him on the edge as I drove forward.

"Maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Maybe we could move on."

HEYYYYY!

The song above is from a play called Dear Evan Hanson- a play that I was so lucky to see in New York. It inspired me to write this chapter. Think of the boy as James and the girl as Jaiden. It's so beautiful and if you have the opportunity to see it, SEE IT IT'S SO AMAZING OMG I'M IN LIKE PHASE 2 OF FANGIRLING ( REPETITION).
