Chapter 8

Gaurav P.O.V
Mom told me that her parents were coming today to meet me.I was so excited because if they come she will also come.
I din't know why..it was a different feeling.I have never felt this before.
I quickly got ready and wore a formal pant and shirt.

I checked my appearance in the mirror and brushed my hair and went to the kitchen to see my mom cooking..
Sathya:Got ready??

Me:Yes ma!!Am I ok?

Sathya:You are looking as handsome as always..

Me:You go get ready..I'll watch this work.

She told me some instructions and went to get ready.
Everything was done and we were  waiting for them to come.

I heard a honk sound and a car came in..
First her father came out..I could see him and by the face I could recognise him as a good person.
Next her mother came out and she was smiling...I liked her and I could see my mother's characteristics in her also.
Next she came..my angel..she looked beautiful in every dress she wore.first I saw her in saree then in jeans and now she is wearing a salwar.

She was beautiful..Omg!!I can't describe her in words..
They all came inside and her father was asking questions about my job,house and turned to my friends and they were talking..Then her mother was talking to my mother..

Then they said can we fix the marriage?
All of them were looking at us when we both nodded.

Prabhu:We are so happy son..we will fix a date for the engagement and call you.

Sathya:Sure..but before that wait..
She went inside the Pooja room and took the flowers and kumkum(it's like a Tilak) and kept it on her..

She smiled and said thank you aunty..

Sathya:No aunty!!Call me Amma from now..

Keerthi:Ok ma...

Me: Thank you uncle and aunty for coming..

Gita:When my daughter calls your mother ma,you should also call as ma and pa..

Me:Ok ma..thank you ma and pa for coming..

I felt different for calling her father as pa because before I was born my father had died and I couldn't call anyone as appa.

When I was about to cry Prabhu pa hugged me..

I felt totally different..I felt secure and confident..
Even though I had a secure feeling with my mother..this was different..I could feel it.

He smiled and left..Before Keerthi went inside the car..she smiled at me and I smiled back..

Prabhu P.O.V
In the car..

Prabhu:You are so lucky Keerthi!!He is a very good man..

Gita:Yes dear..he is definitely a gem of a person..You are so lucky..

Keerthi (thoughts): just listened to their conversation and I had a mixed emotions..I was feeling happy,proud and satisfied..

Prabhu:Gita!!Did you notice he was about to cry when he called me pa?

Gita:Yes!!I could see the feelings in his eyes..it was good that you hugged him..

Prabhu:I feel very sad for him..He lost his father before he could see him..But his mother is a great women.Being a single parent is very tough..

Gita:Yes. She has worked hard to come to this position and I respect her a lot.

Keerthi thoughts:I am also feeling sad for him..I should take care of him very well and should be a good daughter in law for his mother.
