Lacey actually enjoyed the walk home with the four boys of The Loser's Club. She learned a lot about the boys, which is kind of what she does.
Bill Denborough, he lost his younger brother George who was a missing kid not too long ago. He lived with his parents who tried to keep him from finding his brother whom he believed was alive. He also had a stutter which she took a liking to. But, Bill had more spirit in him that Lacey immediately labeled him one of her favorite people.
Eddie Kapsbrak was a short boy and usually the center of Richie's insults. Eddie carried around a fanny pack which at first Lacey thought was really weird but then he explained why he needed it and she learned to ignore it in that short Half-hour walk to her house. She decided that this boy was definitely going to need her help.
Richie was known as the Trashmouth and it was clear why. The entire time Richie was making fun of Eddie, making Lacey step in a few times to shut him up. Richie called himself a ladies man and would not stop talking about the girls that went to their school. Especially Lacey.
"Beep Beep Richie." Stanley said to one of his best friends.
Stanley Uris was a curly haired Jewish boy that was in one or two of Lacey's classes. They worked together a couple of times but never became the best of friends. Stanley seemed the type scared of everything. That or he was just nervous about how life was going to be if something happened to him. He would also need Lacey's protection in her mind.
"What does that mean?" Lacey asked, her arms wrapped around her journal. She looked between the boys waiting for one to answer.
"Well, when Richie talks to much as usual. He tends to go a bit too far. And when he goes so far that we can't stand it, we say Beep Beep Richie. Which usually gets him to stop at least for a while." Eddie explained.
Lacey nodded her head and kept walking alongside Bill and Stanley with Eddie and Richie following closely behind.
When they stopped to let Lacey walk up to her door, all of the boys hopped off their bikes and followed behind her. She heard footsteps and then turned around slowly to see the boys standing at the edge of her porch.
"Well, thank you guys for walking me home. I don't know what I would've done without you." She smiled and laughed hoping they understood the sarcasm she threw at them.
All four of the boys began blushing and smiling to themselves. Bill was the first to come out of his crush.
"We're g-going to the q-qu-quarry tom-morrow. Do you w-wanna g-go?" He asked.
She smiled.
"Sure. What time?"
"9?" He asked. She nodded.
"Okay. I'll see you guys then. Thanks again Losers Club." She gave them a soft smile and wave before walking into her home.
She closed the door behind her and shook of her black leather jacket. Placing it on the hangers mounted on the wall, she slid off her shoes and went to her room that was just up the stairs.
Lacey's room wasn't small but it wasn't big either. She had a twin sized bed in the corner of her room with purple covers and pillows laying neatly on it.
She sat her backpack and journal on her desk a few feet away from the door. In between the desk and the door was a bookshelf filled with books Lacey's read countless times and movies she loves watching.
Lacey walked over to the window and opened her blinds. Not much to her surprise the boys were still standing outside of her house talking. She wasn't sure what the topic was but she knew it must've had something to do with her.
The only tell was the boys pointing to the house.
Lacey quickly changed into a pair of shorts and a red and black flannel then ran downstairs to put her shoes back on. She exited her home and grabbed her bike from under the bushes.
She started riding to her best friends house and arrived within 10 minutes.
Lacey groaned as she realized the amount of stairs she would need to walk up to meet her best friend. Instead of climbing them, she grabbed a few pebbles from the ground and started tossing them one by one to the window of Beverly's bedroom.
A flash of red hair passed by the window and a few seconds later the front door opened and Beverly Marsh came out.
As she made her way down the stairs Lacey admired her best friend. Beverly was one of the prettiest girls in the entire school and because of Henry Bowers everyone was mean to her. Beverly may seem like a bitch at times but that's how she was raised. More closed off than others.
"I need your help." The Red-head said to her only friend.
"With?" Lacey asked cocking her head to the side.
"You'll see." Beverly started walking and Lacey followed behind on her bike.
