Later that day Lacey laid on her windowsill flipping through the pages of a new comic book that she had taken from the comic shop.

Her room was quiet and peaceful. Her window was open and she could hear the sounds of nature and of the cars driving by her house. The slow breeze lifted her dress above her knees but she didn't mind. She liked the thought of a little cold in summer.

"Help!" Her ears perked up as she heard a voice scream in the distance.

"Help! Help!" It cried. She closed her comic book and listened again for the screams.

"Help!" She stood up and ran out of her house looking for the source of the voice, whom she recognized as Eddie Kaspbrak.

"Eddie!" She ran into a body as she ran passed an alley.

"Ahh!" The boy cried in fear.

"Eddie! Ed's!" She grabbed onto his shoulders. "Eddie it's me!"

The kid looked like he was about to cry the water out of his body. He was shaking head to toe and his skin was a really pale color.

"Eddie are you okay?!" Lacey asked, her voice filled with concern.

"I-I-I sa-saw something." He managed to choke out.

"It's okay Eddie. Whatever it was. It's gone now okay?" He nodded and she pulled him to her.

After a few minutes he calmed down but Lacey could tell he was still a bit shaken up.

"Come on. I'll walk you home." They both agreed and Lacey walked a traumatized Eddie all the way to his home.

"Thanks." He whispered.

"No problem. I'd hope you'd have done the same for me had I'd been in your position." She shrugged her shoulders.

He nodded, "of course. We're friends now. You're a loser, like us." Lacey smiled slightly.

"Thanks Eds. I'll see you tomorrow." They said their goodbyes and Lacey made her way home.

The wind was picking up and Lacey looked around her and saw the leaves rolling around her. One in-particular stood out to her. She stared at it as it flew past her.

It flew into the air and around her. She spun and then came face to face with a blonde headed, mullet-wearing boy.

"Holy fuck!" Lacey screamed as she held onto her chest.

"Take it easy there babe." Henry laughed.

"Don't call me that." She glared before moving around him to continue walking home.

"Oh come on darlin. Didn't we have fun last night?" He grabbed her forearm and turned her around so that their bodies had no space between them.

Lacey's breath hitched in her throat. She gulped nervously and tried to get away.

"It was a one time thing Bowers. Let it go." She shook her arm free of his grip and continued walking. He huffed and grabbed her and shoved her up against a wall.
